I am 20 and have been overweight for the majority of my life. I don't remember a year that I wasn't. I started becoming addicted to food about a year ago when I moved out-of-state to be on my own. It was my main source of comfort. I was the heaviest I had ever been, tipping the scales toward 300, at 291. My father recognized that I was gaining more and more weight and wasn't doing anything about it, so he asked me if I would consider weight-loss surgery. I thought about it, researched the different kinds and decided LAPband would be the best solution for ME. I am 11 days post-op, haven't had my first fill yet, and am having a hard time eating small amounts. I'm actually eating quite large amounts, and it's making me nervous.
