Hi Amy-thanks for responding. I had mine done at U of M in Ann Arbor...I work for the U so it was with my insurance. It's funny I see so many different after surgery 'diets' on here.. my full liquid diet includes soupy mashed potatoes and cream of wheat... I thought it also included soup and cottage cheese.. but that's not till 2 weeks out.. oops.. I've been living on that because the protein powder drinks are awful. I'm having a hard time with those. I go on tuesday for my 2 week check up. Gonna try harder to just do the drinks. I think I'd see more weight loss. Do you know what the "PB" on here means? HI Amy.. I was banded same day as you and the first few days I wasn't hungry.. but ever since monday.. I feel like i'm hungry all the time. I'm supposed to be on full liquids but I've had some cottage cheese...and this is so crazy.. yesterday i was down 11 pounds.. and this am I had put on 3 pounds over night??? I'm frusterated. I guess I should not get on the scale every day for a while. Are you in michigan? I saw the great lakes thing.. I am down by detroit. Hang in there... we will make it!!! Take care, Carrie

Hi Dowhat-I was just banded on 11-25 and I threw up 4 times on thursday.. it was just awful. I cried and cried and was so upset about doing the surgery. Reading some of the positive things on here helps. It seems like most of us are really emotional after and being in pain doesn't help. My shoulder has hurt and I've had headaches and I don't want to drink. Ugh... and that's all I'm supposed to do. I guess with anything in life we take it one day at a time...try to walk a little...drink a little... walk a little... everyone says it gets better.

dragonflylover-I'm so glad you posted this. I got my band put on this past wed, and it has been a huge reality check. I'm pissed off that I had to do this and at the same time hoping this is the change I've needed all along. These past few days have been awful and now that I'm home.. all there is on tv is food commercials. I'm angry that I'm not one of those people who can eat whatever and not weigh as much as I do and I'm angry my 'comfort' has been taken away. I have to say I've read a lot of positive stories on here and have to hold out for hope that this is going to help me in more than one way. I did this so I can be healthy to raise my kids and to be able to enjoy my life-not as an obese person. I hope the comming days will be easier for you.

First of all Congrats!!! and 2nd -thanks for posting this-My surgery is scheduled for Nov 25 and this helps me to read what people are saying just out. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and wish you the best of luck!!!

Hi everyone-this posting thing is new to me :sad: I am 36 and have been working towards surgery all year, my date is set for Nov 25th, but I finally met with the dr. and he was really negative about the band. Where I work and with my insurance, I have to use him, but all he kept saying is how the band is a pain in the butt.. they really push the bypass surgery and that scares me. I was very disappointed and needed to find a good support group and this place looks good. I'm going to do this surgery for me...and am excited about all the good weight loss I've seen on here... I wish everyone the best of luck!!!
