Thanks! Hopefully the fill on Thursday will do the trick!! Hang in there and don't give into temptations. I'm still on my 2 days of liquids and curious how I'm gonna feel when eating solids again. -

I was banded 11/17. I've lost 30lbs all together. Started at 316lbs went on 2 week pre op liquid diet consisting of low carb protein shakes and lost 23lbs. On first post op visit 11/25 I found out I gained 7 lbs while on full liquids (was pissed but told this was normal). Then weight loss started again once on mushies for a while and eating sufficient calories. My 1st fill was 12/14 and I had lost 15 more lbs. So that brings me to 30lbs. Hope this makes sense. -

My nutritionist said that the fill will definitely help with the hunger. However, she saw my food journal and was happy with what I was doing to fight the hunger before the fill. She said I was eating a good amount of calories and that she doesn't want me to go below 1200 too often. She said I made good choices and it showed on the scale. She said that now, I'm gonna have to choose foods that are more calorie dense without being too fatty and sugary since now I won't have to eat as often to fight the hunger. Meaning I have to try and get more calories in one meal. She said that people who consistently eat too few calories set their bodies up for failure and you end up in constant starvation mode causing you to stall or lose slowly. Every week I am seeing a loss so I don't wanna mess it up by not eating enough. Plus I exercise and don't want to faint. Lol! Good luck everyone and keep posting. -

You're right. I can have liquids, including soups for 2 days. My fill wasn't until 3:45 yesterday and I've had liquids every since. -

I don't blame you for feeling nervous. I was sooooo nervous about my first fill too. And I'm still nervous about the 2nd one. And I am envious of people who say they don't feel the band anymore. I feel it all the time. I can feel exactly where its positioned. I get little twinges and it sometimes makes me feel weird about having a foreign object in my body. -

Had my first fill this evening. I'm kind of sore because my port is really deep and he had some trouble finding it at first. So he was pressing and pressing until OUCH!! (he found it). That wasn't pleasant at all! But once he found it the needle wasn't so bad. I found out that there was 2cc's in my band already. I had no idea. He even took saline out to be sure it was still 2 cc's. I thought I was just feeling restriction from the band itself, go figure. I drank water before leaving the office and everything seems fine so far. He added 2cc's which brings me to 4cc's. My stomach definitely feels tighter and I am salivating a little more than usual. Looking forward to getting home and drinking hot tea. 2 days of liquids, 2 days of mushies, and then on to regular food again. The nurse was pleased that I lost 14lbs since my first check up on 11/25. So I have lost a total of 30lbs. Yay!! -

I am going for my first fill today. I'm a bit nervous. Hope my port is okay. I already know I lost more weight though. I was impatient and didnt wait till my appt. I weighed this morning and I'm happy the scale is continuing to move. To all of those who are gaining 3 and 4 lbs out of nowhere, it happens. It happened to me right after I started mushies but then I lost it again once my body got used to it. Try not to get discouraged. Keep a food log and keep your calories under control and the scale with start moving. -

Good Morning November Knockouts!! Since beginning my walking routine, I have been inspired to start a project that has been done before but still is very cool to me. To walk every street in Manhattan. Not sure how long it will take me if I dedicate a couple of hours each day. I walk anyway, I might as well make it interesting. I plan on blogging my experience along with pictures. I need a good map and good sneakers and I should be on my way. Starting Monday!!! As soon as I start my blog I will post a link. -

My nutritionist said wine is okay eventually. Just have to develop healthy habits first which takes a few months. The concern is that alcohol can cause you to make bad food choices as well. But I must confess (whispering) I had 5oz. of Merlot today...shhh. But I included it in my food journal and the nutritionist will see it Monday. Ohhh I am gonna get it! Haha! But I walked 29 city blocks everyday this week, so there. -
