Please Help. I`m a "Diet Junkie"
TracyNYC replied to kcg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nutritionist said many people do WW within the confines of the band and she could tell me the points I'd need to lose and be healthy, or that people do modified Atkins. It is not a one or the other. I don't think it is an issue of Fair or Unfair. We have a problem. We have to work at it.Hard! Unfair is 3 Earthquakes in Haiti within a week. Unfair is my mother dying an agonizing cancer ridden death at 62, while my father the drunken, verbally and emotionally abusive a$$hole walks the Earth. Having to stop shoving food in our mouths is hard, but not really a fairness issue. -
I covered mine with a dry wash cloth and kind of tapped/rubbed at it to help the itch. I had only one incision in my Belly Button, but I wanted to get in there and scratch like hell after a few days.

I hate mirrors....
TracyNYC replied to A New Woman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too get frustrated at the 'big picture'. My goal has been set at 170, which at 5'6" is still overweight. To lose 100+ and still be borderline obese kills me. But then I think 170 is better than 270 and already feel so much better between the dropped 30 and I quit smoking. It is a long road and we will have our emotional ups and downs along with the scale. Hang in there! I would kill that little f..er voice too. LOL -

I am on Facebook and see a lot of text speak (yur, no for know, etc.) and that does not bother me. Typing errors also are understandable in a back and forth conversation. But the misuse of their, there, and they're or your and you're annoy me. Especially from people who should know better. Oh and 'alot' instead of 'a lot' is the other one that gets me. I won't correct documents for people once they get annoyed with me for correcting other things. In for a penny, in for a pound. -
Surgery 1.20.10 and scared!!
TracyNYC replied to tamra.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not freaked out at all. It will be fine and my only regret is that I waited all through my 30's ( and wasted the end of the pretty years LOL) as I ballooned and ballooned and finally at 40 did this. I guess age brings wisdom. You will be fine! Best to you. -
I was last weighed Dec. 4th and am down 30.5 since Oct. 5, 2009. I have an appt. for a weigh in and a fill (thank God) this Thursday. I think I have gained 3-5 lbs. I did not get a fill in November, and I think I lost my mind.....Christmas cookies, cake and every kind of junk I could shove in. I would straighten up for a few days here and there and found I had trouble getting meat and veggies down! I am currently working on getting my head straight and need this fill....I worked very hard in the beginning and now am back to old habits... I even tried to eat a cinnamon bun and had my first true "stuck" episode. Not good. I was also away from here due to some computer issues. I see I need the support, humor and kick in the butt being on here provides. Wishing everyone a good 2010!

Feeling my port freaks me out a little...
TracyNYC replied to ChrisW123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can feel mine with no problems, though the PA had a little trouble on last fill. My 7 year old niece, who lives with me, checks my port a few times a week. She pushes it and then yells, "EWWWW" when she feels it!. She also tells me my belly button smells! She's my little brat! LOL -

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! I am a HS English teacher and this bugs me too. I also see, "I have had a 4 pound lost", instead of "loss". My sister tells me that when I point out things like that no one wants to be my friend! LOL -
Time to pay the piper....

LOL-original post was about the piper for eating over the holidays! -
Time to pay the piper....
TracyNYC replied to TracyNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope to be able to wear some nice clothes this summer. Though I will always be in 3/4 sleeves unless I save big money for the bat-wing surgery someday. Working out just makes them bigger. Went to curves religiously for a year lost nothing and no inches, but gained 3 inches on one arm and 2 on the other. Thus ending my willingness to work out now! LOL Thanks for the encouragement. Good Luck! -

Just to update: I was up 1 pound on the 7th. I am now down 4.5 since then with my 2nd fill. The band and I are doing our thing together. -
I had my 2nd fill and am feeling some restriction. It is great. Hope it does not lessen too quickly. My eyes are still bigger than my stomach and my 'head hunger' is almost as strong as ever. Any help for that?

Valentine Day Challenge?
TracyNYC replied to LollyMoe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 258 at my last weigh. I would like to be 249 by Valentine's Day. It is also my 41st birthday. That would make a 40 lb. loss and put me below 250 for the first time in years. -
I want magic, I don't want to work, just give me a magic piece of plastic
TracyNYC replied to tarajim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok What's up? Either you are having a bad time or you are POed at the people here who expect magic with no work....Usually you are also a sane member of this forum. -
Sometimes I weigh myself when I get up and then pee and then weigh again just to see the difference. I have even weighed after doing "the other" too, just to see the difference. It is a weird, weird sickness. My scale is 1 pound up from my docs.

Hungrygirl.com swears by the shiritaki noodles. They have a recipe which sound promising with Laughing Cow lite cheese. I have read that they smell and need A LOT of rinsing. Haven't been brave enough to try them.

amazing what a 35 lbs loss can do
TracyNYC replied to Stacy1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I looked like my ID card. It was taken 13 years ago. First of all I am so young looking...where did that skin go? LOL and I was about 160 lbs. then. I was fat then too, but boy oh boy, if I looked like that now..... -

TracyNYC replied to Stacy1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your pic really shows the difference... Not 1 person has said a thing about my 30 pound loss. I think I see it a bit in a picture from Christmas. I am a slow loser and packed on quite a bit in the 6 months prior to surgery. I teach HS and those kids notice EVERYTHING, so it really must not show on me yet, b/c they would say something for sure. "Miss, you lose weight? How? How much You trying to get a man?" LOL -
LOL- I have been able to eat Melba toast and whole whet wraps. I use the pizza cutter and have 1/2 a wrap as a sandwich a few times a week. That usually is carby enough. I would kill for a bagel though. I am in NYC so a NY bagel just might be worth getting "stuck, stUCK, STUCK" for...LOL

After surgery, what items could you have not lived without?
TracyNYC replied to krstjump03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah, my sister too! She took good care of me! -

TracyNYC replied to krstjump03's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore a sweat suit outfit to the surgery and then wore it home the next day w/ clean undergarments. Less hassle and packing. Def had an extra pillow to hold my belly up in the bed. I could sort of lie on my side/belly that way. I am a belly sleeper. I was wary of the pain meds with the getting up every 2hours to walk. But the third day and night I took 2 and slept well. The next day was the day I felt human. I went home on mushies, so I had pre-made some egg salad. Oh, I used my mini food chopper like crazy in the beginning to mush it all. -
Best Mushies and Soft Foods
TracyNYC replied to New Joy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make stuffed shells with low/no fat cheeses and eat them "unstuffed". That's what I did and told people I was carb cutting. I make this sans shells all the time and mix in sauce and garlic, I call this "Ricotta Mush" and it is a staple now after I get a fill or whenever... -
I'm over-thinking it. Please clarify for me.
TracyNYC replied to voodoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 2 movie tricks: 1 - get a kids snack or (and this is is from pre-band days b/c of the ridiculous price of snacks) I bring something from home like wheat thins...or my soy BBQ snack. -
Does anyone get dull pain in their port from time to time?
TracyNYC replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is not so much pain as an "awareness" of it being there. Had a fill today and she had to wiggle around a bit to get the saline in. I am now a wee bit sore. (gained 1 since Dec. 4) I know why, no excuses--- -
Is your goal weight still considered 'overweight'?
TracyNYC replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That was the goal the nutritionist at surgeon's office gave. It seems like a number of people on this thread also were given "overweight" goals. Tis perplexing. I will discuss with PA when I see her tomorrow.
