I swore that I would never have weight lose surgery. Well the old saying is Never say Never !!  My health issues have increased to the level of danger and it has made it necessary for me to reconsider my previous decision. I attended a seminar a few months ago and I was told my insurance did not cover the procedure. As my health issues increased I considered paying for this procedure out of pocket, however I have no ideas how I would do that. In Sept 09 I contacted the office and when they checked the insurance again they were told that I did have coverage.  Imagine that?  Last week I went into the office to see Dr. Joyce.  I will attend the weight loss program on Nov. 3rd. while the office verifies the necessary steps required by my insurance.  Now that it appears that I can indeed move forward, I am somewhat scared that there was a mistake and the insurance does not cover the procedure.  I went on line and found the Lap-Band forum. I searched for patients of Dr. Joyce's and found an entire group of people that I can connect wtih and discuss my questions and concerns. I am just starting this process, excited, scared, anxious.
