Hello,
My name is Vickie and I am 49 years old and I live in Navarre, FL. My husband and I have 5 rown children and 3 grand babies. I have been overweight for the past 20 years or so. Like everyone else, I have tried everything to lose weight to no avail. I just had my consultation with my surgeon yesterday. I found out that my insurance is making me do the 6 month weight loss program before they will approve me for the surgery. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I will most likely have to wait until June 2010 to have the surgery as I would like to stay home as long as possible to recuperate and learn how to live with the band before I go back to work.
Has anyone else had to go through the 6 month weight loss program? I asked the Dr. what if I lose weight and the insurance decides I don't need the surgery afterall? He says not to worry, that won't happen unless I decide not to have the surgery. What diet do I go on? I am going to meet with the dietitian as soon as possible to get this going.
