There are lots of threads on hair loss - we just had one yesterday where people voted on the amount of loss they have had. If you go to the top of the page and search, you will find a lot of information.

My favorite by far is Muscle Milk. It tastes like whole chocolate milk, but not as sweet - it's just right. you can find it at Target, but it is about half that price at Sam's. Get the pre-mixed liquid instead of the powder - it's much better!

I am just over a month post op - but my diet is not really restricted at all. The only things that are tough are thick, doughy white bread. Also, if she drinks alcohol - I'll let you know that after one drink I am drunk - so make sure you are there to drive her. I wouldn't worry about the vacation or cooking - just try to make healthy meals and support her new eating habits. We bandsters can eat about anything in moderation. The best thing you can do for her is to be supportive, and try not to tempt her with delicious, high fat foods.

Can I get in on the Christmas challenge too? I didn't know that I needed to sign up. I weighed in at 258.2 this morning, and want to lose 25 lbs. by Christmas.

I was banded just over a month ago -9/7 - and I've only lost about 7 pounds. I don't know what the problem is - but my doctor told me to expect little to no weight loss before my first fill. I have my fill next Monday, so hopefully I can start losing 2 lbs. or more a week.

Can anyone tell me what muscle milk tastes like, and suggestions for flavors?

Hi everyone, I was just wondering if everyone can help me - I am going to do some research on hair loss and the band, as well as Protein intake, Vitamin issues and the speed of weight loss. I was just banded 2 weeks ago, but am already trying to find ways to reduce hair loss in the near future. Will as many people as possible respond with: How much hair have you lost / percentage? How long since your surgery? Do you take a Multivitamin EVERY day? Do you take Calcium EVERY day? How many pounds do you lose a week? I'll let you know the correlations I find!

Thank you SO much for giving me a fantastic laugh of the day! I was just banded two weeks ago, so I haven't had to experience that. Just be thankful that you don't know all of the people at the game :confused:

Hi everyone! I was just banded yesterday, the 7th. I feel pretty good and even had a latte and frappucino from Starbucks - they went down very well. I also had a peach smoothie from Sonic - and it was way too thick for this soon out! I am still sick to my stomach from it. I feel good, other than a little nausea and some stomach port pain. How is everyone else feeling? I also need some good, creative ideas for the full liquid stage. Thanks!

How long is it before you can consume alcohol with the lapband? I'm not talking about getting drunk - just a mixed drink or two. Does the carbonation make a difference? Thanks.

I adopted a lab/collie mix and think I am going to name her Hailey. I know it'll be tough to get her just 3 days after surgery - but there's no way I could leave her and not know what kind of family she would get. She gave me a kiss and my heart was hers!!!

Can anyone tell me how much energy you have after surgery? I live in a townhouse with three levels, and wonder how I am going to do with the stairs. I also adopted a puppy today and I get to pick her up 3 days after my surgery (I can't help it - she stole my heart) Please give me realistic expectations of what I'll be doing 3 days afterward, and how many stairs I can do - I'll have to go up and down to take the puppy to the yard. Yes, I think I am familiar with most of the terms. Someone was kind enough to type all of the abbreviations, so it's easy to use that. Thanks for your advice - you post on the site a lot, and really seem to help a lot of people. Us newbies really appreciate your experience!

Hello, I am being banded in 10 days and am just wondering - is there anyone here who regrets getting the band? I went to the store tonight and got all of the junk food that I love (chips, ice cream, OJ, etc) and tried to envision a life without it. How difficult is it to live like this? Are there any things that you absolutely cannot eat? How long is it before you can eat most things in moderation i.e. ice cream? Thanks for all of your answers!

I know this is a personal question, but I don't feel comfortable asking my doctor. How long after surgery should you wait to resume normal sexual relations? Is there anything to consider - do you need to be careful, etc? What about the oral sex - is that still okay even though the throat may be a little tender from PBing? Any input would be great - Thanks!

There's a catheter involved - for both men and women? yikes!!! how much does it hurt? Do they put it in after you are asleep?
