    Plastic Surgery?

I am unable to answer that question as my house has no stairs - LOL I think in the end - Even if you had 100 quotes - You just hafta trust your gut. Unless you can find people who have had surgery by this surgeon then that is all you have really I am afraid - I was very lucky that the guy I chose was fantastic. Good luck making your decision...
  4. Definitely get someone to measure you in store. I did this - But - I did notice that in that first year (After I went out and bought a ton of new Bras) - That they changed.... A year later I had gone down a whole cup size.... So - Do not buy half the shop like I did - LOL - Until you know they will remain at the same size. Hope you find some Bras that are right for you.
  5. The first real surgeon I saw and talked to (I saw one for 5 mins before but that was not a true PS consult, just an NHS thing) I went with this PS I really spoke to in the first true consult about this - He understood what I wanted and at that time I did not know what I know now so I had the surgeries I could hide away if it did not go well - It went very well and I remained with him for the whole lot. I do believe that you will never 100% know the out come for a few reasons. No1 - They will (Some of them) just say what they think you wanna hear. No2 - Every body's body is different and nothing is a given that it will 1000% be fantastic. I just had the feeling with this surgeon and i am very glad I chose him as all my surgeries totally changed me - Not just cosmetically - But in my head also. When I first saw him he asked if I needed to see a psychiatrist (I did not see one lol) I think that had I NOT had the surgeries I would need one by now as the skin was suffocating me emotionally. I just got that feeling - And I am glad I went with my gut and all went well :-)

    Plastic Surgery?

This confuses me. A panniculectomy and a tummy tuck - ?? - A tummy tuck would just sort it all out and the panniculectomy would then not be needed in my opinion - I cannot see how you can do both..... The panniculectomy just removes excess stomach fat and the tummy tuck makes it prettier and also tightens the muscles. If the tummy tuck is done - And you are also charged for a panniculectomy... That makes no sense to me.. No3 is giving you a circumferential abdominoplasty. - That should be quite alot of areas = If you search each procedure you can see what they cover... But I think the only way you can be 100% sure as to what each doctor will do - Is to ask them for a break down of what the op they are offering you will be exactly as one doctor might use the same name and do something slightly different. So you know how you can put them side by side and see what is what - You would only know if they tell you - Maybe write it down so you can go thorugh it in yoru head and all the for'sand against's etc. Thereis alot of info online if you search the surgery you are being offered... https://plasticsurgeons.com.au/circumferential-abdominoplasty-surgery/ http://www.docshop.com/education/cosmetic/body/tummy-tuck/circumferential I hope you find all the answers you need....
  7. To be honest I saw two surgeons and spoke to one other by email - The one I chose just gave me the feeling of security I remember one of his very first sentences for me to have 'Realistic expectations' and then he gave me the world - And more! I still have a couple of bits of me I do not like - But you cannot fix everything, lol But he was so great and I am so grateful for every thing he did to help me to change my whole life.
  8. How many of 'whatever surgery' have you done before? Do you have before and after pics? (If you have doctors name - google it and see what previous patients have to say) Are you in the UK now? If you are - If you wanna PM me your area - If you are close to where I went - I can tell you if you are in the area of my plastic surgeon - He is faaabulous! If you click on my name and look through you will see some of my surgeries - And my results.... I am extremely happy! http://www.bapras.org.uk/public/patient-information/cosmetic-surgery/what-to-ask-your-surgeon Good luck

I think a BBL is a Brazilian Butt Lift. I had a Butt lift (Not Brazilian methinks) Have a flat butt now - but still better than the one I had before..... lol Originally I wasn't going to have my boobs done ..... Then on a whim I did - And I am sooo happy I did - I thought that if I did everything around the boobs (If I did belly and arms) Then the old boobs I had would look out of place - So I asked him to do that as well as the arms and I am so glad I did as they are so much better than the boobs I had before...

Ummmm... It all depends on what areas you feel are the ones needing the most help I guess... For me it would be = Arms, tummy and breasts.

Surgery in the DR in December

Unfortunately nobody can tell you what your surgeon will give to you - If you can find anyone else who has had surgery by them that might help - But everybody's body is also different. Sorry I was not of more help. Here are some of my pictures I hope you can see them... As I said I had a fleur de lis - I did not have my muscles done in the op. My before... And after...

Surgery in the DR in December

I don't know - Maybe not expecting to look like a 20yr old after so much damage had previously been done? I am amazed that everything went so well for me and I am very glad. I guess he meant to not expect miracles - But after he actually gave me a miracle is is hard to keep those expectations in check.

Surgery in the DR in December

My PS told me to have 'Realistic expectations' and I have held those words with me ever since. I guess back then... I felt that nothing could be worse than the alien body I was left in with skin everywhere. Luckily my PS gave me the world and more - He is amazing, a true artist. I shall be eternally grateful for the new me :-)
  14. I decided to go for a breast reduction - I am so happy with the results... The reason I chose not to have implants was mainly because I heard that you need to have your implants changed every decade or so - That put me off - I couldn't imagine myself being 70 and having to have them 'updated' lol Just after I was a 34D - Then a while after taht after all swelling gone - I was 34C down from a G cup and now I am a 34B which I am very happy with. I really hope these pictures show - Been having some issues with the site not working... Before = Just after... And about 6months later I really hope whatever you choose to do - That all goes well......
  15. I don't know about sleeve Tattoos per se - But Lellow has had many tattoos and her work is amazing - So you might get some answers by looking at her fabulous photos? https://www.bariatricpal.com/profile/40379-lellow/?tab=node_gallery_gallery

    Question about breast surgery

I don't know about a Breast Lift - But I had a Breast Reduction and I had very little pain at all (Had it at same time as Brachioplasty and that did not hurt much either) I guess all people are different. And I know people who have cancer surgeries may well have alot more of the Breast removed that just the fatty part. I also guess that some surgeons do things differently to others and some people feel pain more than others (I am a BIG wimp with pain) I have never heard of anyone in constant pain after a Breast augmentation. Hopefully someone here may have some more information for you - My Mum was very worried about me when I had my surgeries - All Mothers worry - But she knew and understood why I needed to do this and she stood by me the whole way through and helped me so much... Maybe if you tell your Mom how you feel and how this affects your life and your view of yourself.. Maybe she will understand - But being your Mom - She will always worry about you even if she understands your reasons for doing it..... Good Luck
  17. The reason why I could not have the mesh (He did try) was because of the hernia mesh I have in there. He tried but it would have left a horrid lump - So he did not - I have been very lucky that the mesh is obviously doing a pretty good job (Bar on one lower corner which hardly shows where I have asymmetry - But it is only a small bump) I was told when I was choosing whether to have the inverted T or not - That if i did not - I might look 'boxy' And I am so glad I did - Even with the scars I have a great flat stomach and for the first time in my life to my memory - I am not fat or chubby or chunky in the belly..... The muscle tightening will hurt, but it might be well worth it..... Good luckkkkkk
  18. Does this one show? My recovery was fine - I did not have the muscles touched due to a previous hernia surgery..
  19. A 'Mons lift' as it is called - Is normally done when they do your Tummy Tuck (Might be an idea to check that when you see your surgeon to make 100% sure that will happen in your surgery etc) They just lift that area up whilst doing the tummy tuck - Search Mons lift and you will find out all the info you need This picture was taken in Aug 2015 and my surgery was in 2010. - But nothing has changed and I am well over 40..... I also had the Fleur de lis....

    6 weeks post TT/LBL

I ended up being mainly in different compression garments (with gaps in between) for like forever - LOL I had one op in April and then one that Sept - Where I did not stay in compression as long as I did not know of the tips then but for the next three ops - I stayed in for 12 weeks... Then an op the next March - When I stayed in compression for 12 weeks and then that July and then the next Jan...... LOL So I have spent like 48 weeks or so in compression garments.... And all these years on - For reasons unknown - I still have the garments put away in a suitcase- I took em out a hwile ago - Washed them, dried them on the line - And then put them back in the suitcase again - LOL Oh - The thigh lift (Inner thigh) Was the most challenging of the ops - The moment I got in to compression I felt soooo much better - So get in to your garments as soon as poss after that one..... The tape on inner thighs were changed daily - Its a not so clean area up top - Luckily the hospital gave me a couple of rolls of tape - And my daughter helped me to stick it on - It was hard to get it to stay put in that area - The compression garments helped to keep it in place..... Was this tape = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/391244884075?chn=ps&adgroupid=39613511478&rlsatarget=pla-279121866201&abcId=923836&adtype=pla&merchantid=7272444&poi=&googleloc=9047014&device=c&campaignid=737386489&crdt=0

    6 weeks post TT/LBL

Personally I wore my compression garments and also kept the Micropore tape on - For 12 weeks (In my last 3 ops) and when I did this - The scars were much better than when I did not.... It supported the scars - Made me feel better - And as I said the scars when I did this are much finer and flatter and almost invisible - Unlike the ones before doing this that stretched a bit and do not look so nice.... It was my Armour to protect me against the world - LOL

Alternate ways to deal with excess skin

Unfortunately - Like an old elastic band - Some people have lost the elasticity in their skin and there is no way to get it to 'spring back' and we choose to go under the knife in the search of ourselves - or normality - or just the ability to feel less disfigured. Some people are lucky though - Have more elastic skin and do not have so many problems. Tucking it in doesn't help for everyone - There is nothing I have found that helped for me - Because I knew all the time underneath I felt - In many ways - Just as disfigured as I was when I was overweight. The only way I found my normality was to have the skin removed (Or all that I could) It is a shame there is no miracle cream or anything that helps that I know of... You could get Spanx etc to help disguise it. I decided to get the skin removed as I was feeling worse in myself after losing the weight because it made me feel like a freak. I do hope someone on here can help you to find some ways.... Unfortunately I am afraid I could not. Good luck!

    What am I thinking?!

I would agree with the above comment - Go to a plus size store - I remember that feeling when nothing in that store would fit me anymore - It is priceless feeling to be unable to fit anything from a plus size store - It is such a morale booster - When you know you have to go to a 'normal person' store - My goodness the smile on my face that day!! It is hard though - To know what to wear - Even now I feel I don't deserve stuff - I tend to take clothes off my kids rather than go buy it - I don't know why - I guess I feel it is better to reuse than to go out to just buy for ME - I am 7yrs post op my first op and even now - It is weird in some ways - When you can stand and look in the mirror and you realize that is YOU - Than slim person is really YOU! You have to get to know the new you - To I guess make friends with yourself - The person you may have hated for many years as I did - And now - You don't quite hate yourself as much - I still have some bits of me I dislike..... But in the main - I am still amazed at the me I have become Well done on your achievement. You have done well!
  24. All my garments came from Design Veronique - Worth their weight in gold! They are not the cheapest - But they made me feel like I was protected form the world - Most of them (To protect my scars through first phase of healing and under I had Micropore tape) I wore for 12 weeks - Using this tip I got - My scars when having the tape and the compression on for 12 weeks - Left my scars much finer and flatter then my own arms - That I removed the compression etc after 6 weeks (Which now I know the tips _ I wish I knew all that before - lol) http://designveronique.com/ And you can also get them in the UK ( I think if you see the one you want on the US site the UK people will send you it from the product number - I just phoned them up and orderd the one I needed and it arrived a couple of days later) http://www.eurosurgical.co.uk/plastic-surgery/design-veronique/ Good luck!!!

    Tummy Tuck without muscle repair

I had an 'Inverted T' (Fleur de lis) without muscle repair - Only because of a previous hernia surgery meant he was unable to do the muscle repair. I think the only person who can tell you if you need it or not is the surgeon - He/She will know if your muscles have parted or not and if they could do with repairing, alot of the time after having kids your muscles could do with a little repairing especially if they were large babies. Sometimes working out will not bring the muscles back together - Sometimes I guess it might. If you have the repair your belly will be flatter. Your waist a little slimmer possibly. But yes the muscle repair brings with it the pain of that. Not having the muscle repair meant my TT was not very painful at all. If I did it again and I was able - I would probably go through the pain of the muscle repair as the end result would be better possibly - My actual result is very good - But I guess I might have a more hourglass shape with the muscles done. Good luck with your Ops This is me at 5yrs post op - I am 6.5yrs post op now - Have not taken a photo in a while - But things are pretty much the same... My scar is not as good for this op - As it is with the Ops after this - As I only learned of the tricks to a flatter and finer scar after this op - lol (Actually you can see in the hip to hip scar in the pic - The ends of this scar were redone in a different op as it overlapped it - That scar is very very fine and flat and almost invisible - That is due to me putting the micropore tape in a complete circle round me and relatively tightly - Not deadly tight so you cannot function lol - But the scar was supported and also flattened and now - It is left being much finer and flatter in comparison to the vertical scar above it - Not that that is what this post is about - Lol)
