I had arms and breast reduction on April 22nd this year - No pain at all - Fabbbbbulous! Aug 6th..... -
I'm not 100% sure as to post-op but I am approximately 9st 7lbs (133lbs) now and I was 18st 10lbs (262lbs) at my heaviest.... Hafta run - UK time is diff to US lol

Thank you! I am three weeks post op tomorrow - I think I have the dressings removed next Monday - And even with the swelling which I have a bit of - I am still very happy

Before my TT my belly button was like a closed book (From a previous surgery for a Hernia I have like 2/3 of a belly button left maybe 1/2) It was hard to keep clean because it was so small etc. My TT on Aug 12th brought to light the fact that I was left from one of my two hernia surgeries (No1 i think) with a ''Free Floating Belly Button'' Meaning that some eejit surgeon CUT the stalk of my Belly button leaving it without its blood supply stalk - I am still praying the belly button survives as there is a good chance I will lose it because of it's lack of Blood supply. I would say that an Infected Bely Button IS a medical thing In my opinion as the Umbilicus has a bloody suply that leads to the whole body (I mean when you were in your mothers womb it was your entire link to life being the place all nutrition came through) I really hope that they can get this sorted for you! If you are going to have a TT then I would think that the new placement of your Belly Button will sort out many of the problems :-) I hope your insurance will give the OK and that you can sort this problem out.

I was so petrified before my first op (Breast reduction and brachioplasty) so scared I had written my will and planned life for my kids etc etc Afterwards - I had no pain at all and went out to lunch with a friend at 4 days post op My second Op was Aug 12th - Inverted T tummy tuck - Again I had no pain (My muscles could not be done as they were immovable from a hernia mesh a couple of years ago) - Again - I had no pain from it - just a major backache from not being able to stand up straight for a while.... I think Plastic surgery can be very addictive as Op3 is already in my head (thighs and bum need doing eventually) If I had pain I think I would have stopped tho - LOL (I am a wimp) No matter how scared you are - Think of how you will feel afterwards - Think of the prize that is at the end of it - ''Eyes on the prize'' are the words that were said to me and I still repeat that to myself all the time...... This is the prize...... (Scuze censored bit I was holding it online on a website lol) Before..... And at 2 weeks post op..... I am two weeks and three days post op today.... And I look at the pics as I am still in the compression garment to remind myself of what a wonderous prize that is! Good luck to you...

trouble finding compression garments to fit properly
Scamp replied to Dixie37's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Have you tried Design Veronique - I hafta admit the one I am in now - Does try to cut my ''underparticles'' (lol) up if it decides to not wit right but they do many types of fitting (name of which i forget right now) and I have used their compression garments for twoops now and they are great quality and as soon as I managed to get mine onn (the weird elasticated binder from the hosp just allowed me to swell outside it - so I doubled up to ''decompress'' myself and as soon as I was - I put it on and blisssssssssssss - Its like a second skin. Hope you find one to fit you right. -
In UK - We are told towear the compression garment (From design Veronique) For 6 weeks..... (I am at 2 weeks and 2 days today)
-
Well done you! I am 14 days out from an inverted T today (Tho he couldnt touch my stomach muscles cos a hernia repair sorted them out) I am vey happy with what I see :-) (I am still in dressings tho - I think in UK they leave us in dressings longer?) I hope when you go back to work it is not too bad :-( Have you taken any pics?
-
Yeah - How about saying to your boss - ''I have to have a stomach surgery - And I will need a few days off to recover'' (Dont be specific as to what the surgery is - Just say stomach surgery and let them think whatever they want) - If they ask just say 'I have a problem with my belly and I hafta get it fixed' They will probably think it's something inside the belly - But you are not lying - you do have a problem and you are getting it fixed.......
-
That's sad - Do you not get a certain amount of Holidays over there like we do in UK? Then again - After the fact if you are sick - He'll hafta give you sik days (I was given a letter for boss saying something about just having surgery)
-
I have an inverted T tummy tuck on the 12th August and my belly muscles they could not do (as they were kinda done with hernia mesh in 2007) I guess i could have gone back to work on the next Monday - But I would not advise it - I am now a couple of weeks out and I am still very tired, tho the compression garment I have helps tons with any swelling etc. Pain - I havent had but for the first few days I was pulled forward by the stitches so had backache for about a week. The Hernia surgery hurt like holy hell, and my surgeon said it was a v large mesh and he couldn't do anything in that area or I would have been left with a large lump right down the centre of my belly. I am gonna ask him when I see him what difference that would have made to my shape if he had been able to stitch the belly muscles as I am not sure they woulda moved much on me at all... is there no way you could take a week off work? Good luck

Question for Dr. JLo, calf lift?
Scamp replied to Buffie's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Been a long time since this post was bumped - Does anyone know anythign about calf reduction? I'm not 100% sure they do one (due to it being the second heart returning blood UP etc) But - As I have now Had the Brachioplasty, the Breast reduction and joined the Inverted T club - My legs are the next thing to tackle....... Anyone? -
I had a brachioplasty in april - I think you would se your surgeon and if he thinks you didn't need it right to the elbow that is what he would do - BUT - I think it goes down that far because you wouldnt want things to look odd half way down - I am sooooo happy with my results I had no pain from this at all (Had a breast reduction at same time) I had no pain at all from both procedures! There is a tiny 'lump' of skin at elbow but if they overdo it - You will have problems with bending your arm etc. I am so very happy with the breast reduction and arm reduction as they were really emotionally 'upsetting' me before and now I can wear sleeveless tops and be happy about it......

Considering Brachioplasty - advice?
Scamp replied to StarsZie's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Re: Pic above - It was hard to get a clear pic so my arm is behind me which seems to make the scar arc - When your arm is normal the line is pretty straight like the one below at 4 weeks Post Op (If the pics do not show right click on the pic and get the properties and copy the address (url) and paste that into a window and you will see it that way) And... My before pic... And if the above pic at 4 weeks freaks you out - That was the day I had all dressings off - And... four days later - It looked so much better... Pic below is 4 weeks 4 days Post Op... And... Just took some more pics at 11 weeks Post Op today... -

My scars today are a red line (its not long since april lol) They are an angry looking raised red line but - when they took the dressings off that first day they looked like a riht mess of blanket stitch and it really freaked me out! but 4 days after the dressings were off it already looked better. They are about the width of wool maybe - not 2 inches wide thats for sure. LOL i had very little bruising after the op - no pain and my arms look normal for the first time in so long I can wave and not feel horrid. Mimi on here has taken some pics that are in her album she had her op i Jan/Feb i think it was. She helped me so much talking me thrugh the bits I was worried about - She has been a godsend. I know my arms were 11.25 before the surgery and are 10inches around the bicep now :-) Good luck if you choose to do it - I am so very glad I did :-) -
Considering Brachioplasty - advice?
Scamp replied to StarsZie's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
On April 22nd I had a Brachioplasty and a Breast reduction - I had no pain whatsoever - I cant talk to you aboutcost as I am in UK - But I have to say I am SO happy with my results and next year I will be wearing all the lovely little tops I always thought I would not be able to wear. The scars look nasty to start with but they soon go to a red line and in a yar I will have a white line or an invisibe line and I am soooooooooooooooooo happy I did it :-) -
Tummy tuck to be done on June the 9th 2010
Scamp replied to Lisacotter's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
How did it go Lisa? I hope you are so happy with your results and have taken lots of pictures :smile2: -
Yes they are a bit dulled at this time (6 weeks and a bit post op) but the doc said this can happen for about a year anyways - My Mother had a lumpectomy where they cut her nipple to get in - and she told me it took a year for the sensation to return... My right nipple is duller in sensation than the left (That boob was much larger than my left) If my nipples were completely dead to all sensation i still would consider the op fantastical Hopefully in a year all will be normal again tho
-
When I went to my Doc I said I wanted a Breast Lift and he said 'What you really need is a breast reduction' He explained why and drew pictures (Which are almost identical to the pics of breast lift) And on April 22nd I had the reduction - I had no pain at all - and am so happy that my hugemungous sagging boobs are gone and I now have smaller and perky ones
-
I would have said rpreviously to get a sports bra - as long as it is supportive and nice and tight etc. I had a Breast Reduction and Brachioplasty in April and I had to get a special Bra with sleeves... I hafta say this Bra thing has been great, not too tight nor too loose but very supportive also. As they have given you a pamphlet of surgical bras - It might say in it what is best to get for a Breast Reduction? I was put into Compression on Day2 after surgery (Mainly because the drains from my arms made it impossible to get ito this bra thing with sleeves on Day1) So really you should already have a compression garment I would think. Good luck and I hope you are happy with your new boobs - I am with mine :-)
-
On April 22ns 2010 I had a Brachioplasty and Breast reduction. I hafta say I had NO pain from either! I went down from a G cup to a C cup. The only ouchy moment was having the drains removed - and that was just ouchy - Definitely not the agony I told myself I would be having..... Good luck on your upcoming breast reduction - I bet you are very happy with your new boobies :smile2:
