Please, please, pretty please, share what you are doing all day every day to lose that much weight so fast. I was banded on the 8th and I have only lost 15. Please give me some ideas that helped you lose that much. Thanks in advance.

I am kind of at a stand still I have only lost 15lbs since the surgery but I have NSV's with my inches lost, and the way my body is changing. People say they see the difference, which amazes me because it is only the 15lbs. I have also taken the extender out in the back of my bra :clap2: . That puts a smile on my face. I have had my first fill and notice some difference, but not alot unless I eat too fast or too big of a bite. I go back for another appointment Nov.27.

My doctor did mine with the nurse right there to help. I don't have much restriction with my first fill, but can tell if I don't chew well enough, slimes and a little bit of panic.:omg: and pain:help: . I just rry to talk myself into relaxing and alot of praying that I don't get sick. I can still consume much more food than I would like to. The support group I went to said that the 3rd fill is usually hits the sweet spot and things change. I have a 5 cm band.

MOM still no change for me. I went to a support class tonight, I was the only one there that had lapband. Everyone else ther had the by-pass, I kind of felt out of place, because most of the topics were refering to them. The instructor did say though that at the third fill they usually hit the sweet spot and everything changes. I must say that this message board has much more support than that meeting. It was only my first one though and so I shall give it a chance. They meet once a month.

Hi MOM, sad to say I stayed the same this week, still up one from the original weight. I just keep telling myself to be patient, my body is still adjusting, BUT I can really tell a difference in how my clothes fit now. NSV I think it's called, I still feel so much better then before the surgery.

Well hello everyone, well I had my fill today and it hurt. :cry The dr. said in a very gentle way that my stomach wall was a bit thick right now but would change later on. He was very nice.:tsk: He numbed my stomach, then brought out a bigger needle and I had to look away, again he was as gentle as he could be. Then he said I am not able to find the center of your port. We had to go to X-ray and do the floro something or other. That worked like a charm and I saw the whole thing. That was very cool. Then he gave me a glass of water and said drink and a bandaid and said see you in 5 weeks. That's it, but my stomach is very sore because of the gouging and probing due to thickness don't you know. I have had worse things happen but am glad it is over and can't really say if I feel any different since my fill. He gave me 1cc in a 10cm band that holds between 4 & 5 cc's. I am still very thankful that I had this surgery done and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Well everyone it has been a long day so I shall type to you lovely people tomorrow.:notagree Night!

Hey everyone I am going for my first fill today at noon. I am a little nervous and like everyone else a little discouraged at times. I have heard (not on this board) some women say (who had the surgery) that there was no weight loss and then BOOM it started coming off again. I think we just have to take one day at a time. I myself have started walking and each day it gets better. Even though my weight loss is at a standstill I must say I do feel much better now then before the surgery. Anyway I will post tonight to let you know how it went. Have a wonderful day!

MOM: I remained the same (-0), but am in the process of trying to get scheduled for a fill, and am waiting for the doctors office to call me back. Congrats to all who showed a loss that is wonderful and keep up the good work.

Also, can anyone tell me what types of different protein shakes they use/used. I have been using the HMR shakes from the hospital, but they are expensive and get boring after a while. Congrats on getting to have your surgery. I know you must be doing the happy dance right about now. :puke: I am using the whey protein from Walmart, vanilla flavor and I mix it with crystal light( strawberry, banna, orange) Yum. The powder only cost about $11. Hope this helps.

About the trapped gas pains, well everytime I put a strawberry shake into the blender with protein powder I would get gas pains after I drank it. Not chocolate, not vanilla, only strawberry. But dummy me I had to have 3 of them before I figured it out. DUH! :embarassed: :puke: I do need alot of gasX but I also need my dear hubby to pound me on the back too. That helps really.

eat 3 times a day vs. 6 times a day.

Good for you!!!! Doing the happy dance for you!!:clap2: My goal is to get off all of my meds that I can too. I am already down about 4 pills a day but that has just been since my surgery and I haven't been able to take them. I have to go back to my reg. doctor to see about getting off of them.
  24. I agree!!!! My husband said the bypass was not an option. I agreed with him. However I do want my weight loss to be permenant. So I guess I will have to stay on top of things. Banded 9/8 and feeling great!!!
