I want to thank you for that wonderful post! As I sit here reading all of the things that can go wrong, it is so nice to hear a success story like that. I am getting banded on the 9th of Oct. I hope that I will be writing a post like that next Oct. Way to go! -

It is the high hopes that we all have before trying something new and hoping this is it! This is how I have been feeling for the past 3 yrs when I first found out about the lb. Now that I am paying for this myself and doing a lot of praying, this is my final straw. The other surgeries for weight loss are not an option for me, THEY REALLY SCARE ME! I am jumping off the deep end! You are right about the other things you have to deal with, high BP, cholestorol, diabetes, etc... they are also hard to manage. I am glad this is here to read so I am not blind-sided by anything. I think just about anything that can go wrong with the band has been in a forum in one way or another, and I am able to learn about it

I too am now scared! I just hope that I will be able to lose the weight I need because this is costing a lot of money. I have tried everything out there and this is my final straw. But reading these posts here, really does scare me. I want to be successful and lose weight to make myself healthier.

two of my daughters are baristas at coffee stands in Wa state. They know how to whip out those *&&^%%*(_)^%$# drinks that people order! I guess I am just simple, they don't drink starbucks at all. No one in Seattle really does, their coffee tastes burnt to me. I know I should be drinking sf chocolate, but the small amount I put in there only has 50 calories and with the NF milk, (my dairy for the day) it's maybe 125 cal. -

I love my coffee! I roast my own beans and I have an espresso machine to make my own Iced mochas which is extremley cheap! I use non fat milk and 1 tablespoon of hershey's chocolate. you can buy the flavorings just about anywhere now, just moved to east TN (1906, I think is the yr here) from Seattle. Couldn't find ANYWHERE for coffee except Starbucks, and they are 25 miles from my house. So once again I had to take matters into my own hands, just like my surgery (insurance co. refused). Seems to be a trend in my life? -

Reading lots of forums so I can find out what it is that I am in for. Lots and Lots of great advice! I am so glad that this is here for me to read so that I can try not to make the same mistakes as some people have made. I feel bad that they have had to suffer through, but for us newbies, it's a good tool. I have 46 days until surgery! I am having very mixed emotions, I felt like this is the best thing in the world fo rme and then I read about all of the things that could happen. I guess I am scared because I am paying for this myself and knowing it costs 500+ to do a fill in my area, I am hoping that I will not have to get an unfill! -
