I have been trying to lose weight for about 15 years. I have tried every diet out there. I most I ever lost was 50 lbs, then I would gain it back. I have been trying to get the lap band for 2 years now. I have been with 2 different companies and at first the insurance would cover then it was excluded from the policy. With the first company I was with and after doing 6 months of weight loss and tests, I was down to the final approval when the company switched insurace and anything bariatric was excluded. I was devastated. I was laid off shortly after that. I started with another company and when I was hired I was told that the insurance did cover WLS. As soon as I got the insurance, I called a lap band doctor and was called back shortly after and informed that it was excluded. I had basically gave up and was preparing for death. I was told that I would not live past 35. I am 32 years old now. I just found out last night that my Mom and Dad have been saving up the money. We almost have it. I am getting excited that I am finally going to get help. Wish me luck.
