Anyone else follow the food guidelines without being banded?
stripper-uk posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So far I havent had much of a response on here, it is a fantastic resource for information and for that I am grateful! I am following liquid stage at the moment, going onto mushies next week. Lost 8lb last week and dont have too much more to go For me banding wouldnt be possible with a low BMI however the guidelines have been a good tool. Hoping I get on okay wuth mushies and continue to loose. Anyone had success with keeping to 1 cup meals/following allowed foods without being banded?? Thanks in advance Rebekah -
Hiya I found this site a few days ago is a fantastic resource I am not banded, however am following the diet plan ie liquid at the moment and very low cals- have taken the plan to my doctor I dropped from 70kg to 55kg last year and am trying to loose that last bit under supervision from my doctor Am 23 years old and live in london Anyway just wanted to say hello Thanks Rebekah

I would like to start adding some mushy foods in, my GP is monitoring me at the moment but is by no means an expert, he is happy to weigh me and check bp etc Been sticking to liquids, am unbanded, aiming to shed final weight after loosing 50lb+ last year. Am feeling very full on liquids, ie. completly stuffed after 1 cup of broth or low cal hot choc(35cal). Struggling to get much over 150cal of liquids so know its time to try mushies Should I introduce these slowly? Also texture wise is small chunks okay or should it be entirely smooth?? Got some Beans yesterday so would like to experiment with these. Any advice would be fantastic Thanks in advance

transistioning from liquid to mushie
stripper-uk replied to stripper-uk's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For weightloss purely, my GP is happy to keep an eye on me. I dropped from 70-50kg last year and still have a way to go. I am perfectly full with liquids but would love to add in some mushies. Will hunt about and read the recipe pages for mushies and try, see if a few spoonfools sounds good Thanks for the reply -
Hope its okay to post here wondering if 1 cup is the same as a 250ml tuppaware? I have been using this to measure out my Soup ..and in a week or so will try some blended foods. Just want to make sure I have measurement right as I am doing this on my own so to speak My gp is supervising but a little clueless Thanks in advance Rebekah

Hope its okay to post here I am unbanded, dropped from 70kg-55kg last year on my own. However have some more to go. Took the basic liquid diet list to my doctor however he dosent know much about it, showed him the mushies also. Currently taking Multivitamin tonic, Vitamin c and Protein powder daily- is there anything else I should be adding in?? My gp isnt an expert by anymeans but he is happy to monitor and weigh me weekly. Now down 4.5lb in 3 days so pleased. Any advice would be fantastic Thanks in advance
