I currently do not have a lapband story. However, I am calling a general sugeon who specializes in the lapband procedure tomorrow 10/08/09 to make an appointment for a consultation. I am nervous, scared, and excited all at the same time. I have been struggling with being over weight since I was 10yrs old. I have tried diet after diet after diet. Things would work for a little while but then they would just stop. I am not generally a believer in taking medications or having surgery unless it is absoloutly necissary. I firmly believe that I can not take off the amount of weight that I need to by myself and that I need this procedure as an aid in my weight loss. There is a great risk of diabeaties, heart disease, high colesterol, high and low blood preasure, and sleep apnia that all run in my family. I have lost loved ones in my family due to all of these conditions and do not want to suffer the same fate. I have high hopes of my meeting with the surgeon and that my insurance provider will cover this procedure. :o)
