    Anyone banded around 10-14-09?

Wow it sounds like everyone is doing great. I was banded October 10th 2009 so a few days before the 14th. We have all almost lost around the same amount of weight. I'm so glad to hear about so many good sucess stories. Even with all my problems I still loved my band and can't wait till I get my new one. Keep up all the great work.
  2. I hope everything works out for you after the test :)

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Maybe do a 5 day pouch test just to really kick start a super healthy diet. Just from doing the pouch test a few months ago i lost 3kg in 5 days ( guess I was eating that bad) it really helped me change my eating habits for some time and I lost much more after the test.

    5 Day pouch Test...

I love the 5 day pouch test. When I did it I nearly lost 3 kg because I wasnt eating well before I guess. It helped kick my sugar cravings and I ate so much better after. Check out my blog An Alien Bandit I did the test in January and think it is a great way to get back on track :blushing:
  5. 5 days is going to be lots of time to recover. I didnt tell anyone about my surgery at all. I have my surgery Saturday afternoon and went back to work on Monday ( Im a teacher). It was easy to get away with not telling anyone about the surgery.

    Does anyone have a MIDband?

I don't live in Australia or have the midband but I have heard of it. A couple of weeks ago I got my band removed in Korea and while I was in recovering my doctor brought in another doctor who was visiting different countries in Asia to talk to them about bariatrics and the midband. This doctor is from Australia and gave me his business card. Maybe he can help you. Here is his info from his business card Dr Vincent Braniff M: 61 405 141 328 T: 61 2 9550 7271 Email: vbraniff@gmail.com I am not sure he is in Australia right now as I think he is back in Korea for a few days until next week I am not sure. Maybe you can email him? Hope this helps

    October 2009 Surgery Date?

Those recipes look great. I think I am going to start making some of those Everyones weightloss sounds good. Don't forget not only are you celebrating a weightloss but also remember that it means you are not gaining any weight. Even seeing my scale not moving up makes me happy. Keep up the good work and maybe lose a few pounds for me while I work through my bump in the road
  8. when ever I get b-12 Vitamin shots I have tons of energy and lose lost of weight. Since that is very expensive I started taking the dissolving b-12 Vitamins but they didn't work as well. So if you need lots of energy get the shot, if you need a little energy take a few of the pills a day.

I spoke with them and they will take me on as a patient for fills if I buy a post-op care package. So they are an option I could use.
  10. I was banded for 4 months and lost 22kg so thats about 48 pounds ( even though there were a few bumps in the road). 2 weeks afters surgery I lost over 10 pounds so I think 20-30 pounds is very doable. I am even a low bmier so I thought my weight loss was slow compared to others. Good luck and have fun
  11. Amanda thanks for the luck. The removal went fine. Good luck on your journey :)

Atgoalgal thanks for your msg. I have been doing more research about the bands as I have to admit I didn't know as much as I could have before. I am getting the ap-s next as the midland is not really used by Canadian doctors where I will end up so I need a doc who can help me with fills etc instead of coming back to Korea.

Chaos- the erosion wasn't bad I didn't really have any pain. The removal went fine that was not very painful at all. Even if it was I couldn't tell because I had lipo as well and that pain masked any other pain I could have had. I am 2 weeks post op and I feel good. I haven't gained any of my weight back and I am still eating relatively small meals.

    What do you all do?

band removed = no more shoulder pain?

I think my body is a little strange. When I was banded I never got the left shoulder pain but now that my band is removed I find if I eat too much I get the left shoulder pain. My doctor says it is because my stomach is smaller and still recovering from having the band removed.

Why do sweets go down so easy?

I think though bands are meant to help us lose weight, they still have a sweet tooth too therefore gladly accept sweets when your mouth lets some pass through

    Easter Challenge Anyone?

I kind of stopped trying to do the easter challenge because I lost my band but now almost 2 weeks after my surgery I finally stepped on my scale and I actually lost weight 3 kg! that means I am half way to my easter weight loss goal of losing 8 kg by easter

    Bungee Jumping...?

I asked the same question a while back. I haven't gone jumping yet but I asked my doctor and he said though I was crazy to consider jumping it wouldn't hurt my band.

    Lipo tips

The other day I got my band removed because of erosion and my doctor did some lipo while I was under. I was just wondering what after care advice other people were given. Of course I follow my doctors orders but all doctors are different so I think it is good to hear others experiences and what they did after having some lipo.

    Lipo tips

well this doesnt really help with what I asked about. My doctor has a plastic surgery team that works with his patients for things like tummy tucks etc. It is great because if I do have a tummy tuck he would be there to make sure the port and tubing etc is placed right.
  19. does anyone know if their fill doctors accept patients who were banded outside of Canada?

    Lipo tips

ellen if you check out my blog there are more details to how the erosion was found. its really a long story
  23. I put an emphasis on ANY doctors in Canada as anywhere in Canada would be a lot closer then me going to Korea every time I need a fill. I will be living in Ontario but if I have to travel to get a fill I don't mind. There must be a doctor somewhere that would take me.

    Lipo tips

thanks for the website. I am going to check it out. How long is a long time?
  25. So I had the swedish band and recently found band erosion so I had the band removed for 3 months. My doctor and I were talking about what kind of band I would get next and he mentioned the midband which is the french band. I was originally thinking of getting the ap-s next. So I am just wondering what kind of bands everyone has and if anyone has this midband so I can get more info about their experience with it.
