  5. I am 4 months out from surgery and have gone from 245 to 209. I am having trouble getting my 80 grams of protein in a day. I'm losing alot of hair (thank god I have thick hair) and my doctor said it is because I'm not getting enough protein. I need suggestions! Thanks, Ashley
  6. I was banded on 10/23/09. My surgery was at 11:30 am and I was home by 4:00 pm that afternoon. To me surgery was the easy part, it was the two week liquid diet that was the hardest. I did stick to it though. Your restriction will go away once the swelling goes down, but be patient. I didn't have good restriction until my 2nd fill. My first fill was on December 7th and I just had my 2nd fill on January 4th. I am down 27 lbs. and feel really great. I have a ways to go but it is a start. Just know that we all will get to where we need to be as far as restriction goes. If you are feeling hungry alot or you have stop losing weight, don't hesitate to get a fill. The ball is in our court and we have to stay on top of things. I'm excited about 2010 because there is alot to celebrate. I hope to be down 100 lbs by my 1 year LapBand anniversary. Good luck to you all! Ashley Presurgery 245 Current 217
  7. I had surgery on October 23rd. My first fill was on December 7th. I have lost a total of 25 lbs but I feel like I am doing it on will power. I want to see the 2 to 3 lb per week weight losses and it is just not happening without good restriction. How long does a doctor usually wait to do the 2nd fill. I NEED RESTRICTION! Thanks!

    Just had my first fill!

Thanks, Cathy!! I can't wait to see the scale start picking up speed in the downward direction. I was 234 presurgery and now I'm at 221. It's a start but I'm ready to get out of the 200's and definitely ready to be under 174 so I want be considered OBESE anymore!
  10. I was in and out of the Doctor's office in 20 min. It didn't hurt at all! I'm on liquids for the next 24 hours and then I can go back to solids. I am 7 weeks and 3 days post op.
  11. Thanks, everyone! I just got off the phone with my weightloss coordinator and the earliest she can get me in with my doctor for a fill is Dec. 7th. My surgery was Oct. 23rd so that will put me at 7 weeks and 3 days post op when I get my first fill. I can definitely tell I'll will be using alot of willpower and exercise during the next 1 1/2 weeks. My restriction is definitely not what it was a few weeks ago.
  12. I know everyone is different, but I was just curious. I am almost 6 weeks out and have little restriction now and am hoping I get one when I go to my appointment Dec. 7th. Thanks, Ashley
  13. I am on soft foods until this weekend, then I can start solids. I will definitely try what you are doing starting tomorrow. I drink those EAS protein shakes (110 cal.) every once in a while. I think tomorrow I will use those twice during the day as a snack and will focus on 3 half cup protein/veggie meals. Thanks for your advice. I started out at 245 and I'm now at 224. It seems to be going slow, but I know I must be patient. I didn't gain 100 pounds overnight, did I? I will try the sugar-free popsicles too!
  14. Also, how do you get all your fluids in if your not suppose to drink anything for 1 -2 hours after you eat. Are you eating 5 times a day?
