    Once your lapband is full

Hi there I currently have a 9cc LapBand, and have 12.25 ccs in. I think it depends on the doctor, but I did not have any restriction until 12 ccs. My doc tells me that there is not an issue with overfilling the band, as they are tested upto like 100 ccs, to ensure they will not pop. Now.... no one should have that much, but a slight over fill in the band will not do any damage to the physical band, or you, unless you are too tight. Hope that helps Nicole
  2. I currently have 11.75 ccs in my 10cc band. Thinking I will need another .5 or so... but pretty darn close to my sweet spot. Nicole
  3. Hey guys... quick question. I had my first fill on Monday of this week. I got 5 ccs in my 14cc band. Monday and Tuesday went fine.. great restriction, but I got my period on Wednesday. Now I am SO tight I can't even swallow Water until about 4-5 in the afternoon. If I try, it get's stuck kind of. It just comes right back up. I got really sick on thanksgiving, as my body is not used to not having ANY nutrition or water. Is this normal? I do NOT want an unfill, as I'm sure it will loosen back up after my cycle is over, but what do I do?? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks! Nicole
  4. Hey there guys. I'm a little bit discouraged at the moment and could really use some advice. I am 2 weeks post op, just over actually, and I GAINED 2 pounds. I do not have a fill yet. I had my surgery on September 25th, and lost 10 lb in the first week. I then lost 3 lb the second week ( weigh on thursdays ). This morning when I weighed myself, I had Gained 2 pounds. How the heck does that happen??? I am not cleared for exercise until Monday, so i'm sure that will help.. I am still on mushies but can eat some scrambled eggs, soft Proteins and crackers. I am hardly taking anything in as I can't eat more than 1/4 cup at a time. How on EARTH do you gain 2 pounds on mushies?!? I'm SO frustrated. Anyone with similar experiences?? Could really use some support today. Thanks guys! Nicole
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. I guess the responses do make sense to me. Going from liquids to mushies is obviously a different texture, and more nutrition. I just felt a little crazy for a little bit there! I felt like I was doing something wrong... Laying off the crackers is probably a good idea... carbs carbs carbs. They just go down so easy! lol Nic

  14. Hey everyone! I have recently found this site and am thrilled! I just had my lap band surgery on September 25th, and here I am! I have not had much for complications. I had my surgery on a Friday, and was back to work Monday. Things have gone flawlessly thus far. I did my liquid diet the first week, then because I had been doing so well, my surgeon upgraded me to purees. No problems yet. I am eating between 1/4 and 1/2 cup per meal and have lost about 10 lbs so far. I have heard so many horror stories about being sick all the time and such, but so far so good! I am really excited to begin my new life and meet people on the same journey. I am a generally very positive and optimistic person, so I hope to learn a lot from all of you, and maybe offer some support too Nicole
