  1. I am now 28 weeks pregnant and have the strangest symptom. I have a strong hiccup -yes a hiccup :w00t: (much more often after I eat) I get it every 1/2 hour or so and out of no where. It's been about a week now and coming more often that it's annoying. I get it all hours of the night and day. I had a .5cc taken out when I was 8 weeks and seem to be fine. I'm wondering if I need to take a little more out. Has this happened to anyone. I called my doc's office but they're gone for the day. Thanks for any feedback!
  2. I called and got the information so I can move forward with the consult (the plastic surgeon). Anyone have Oxford that was approved for the panniculectomy? My insurance company said it's a case-by-case thing and if the dr's feel it's medically necessary they just get a pre-auth.
  3. Thanks so much for checking in. The consult went very well. The doc was great and answered all of my questions. He was going to put everything together and send it out to the insurance company this week so hopefully within the next couple of weeks I will have an answer. He was pretty optimistic. He also did a breast lift consult. About 15 years ago I had a breast reduction and now that I've lost the weight......well you know lol. Besides the sad, droopy look I have a lot of scar tissue. It's also nice to know that if I do get approved he will fix my port site. I have a pretty decent sized lump on my stomach due to scar tissue from that so he said he can fix that. Until then my fingers are crossed.
  4. Hey TCB, Actually it's a medical procedure, not cosmetic. You should consult your surgeon and primary doc. If you document rashes with treatment for a period of time, and having weight loss procedure (such as lap band) to help with weight loss, most insurances do cover it. You just can't say "tummy tuck", it's either a panniculectomy or abdominoplasty. You should call your insurance as well and ask them what the process would be for skin removal after weight loss surgery. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Jen

I'm sorry I haven't been on here in so long. I lost 68 pounds.
  12. I actually did not see that. Thank you so much! I have all of that so it looks better than I thought. I will let you know what happens. Jen
  13. I am only a few pounds from my doctor's goal for me and I go for my consult this Thursday. One thing my insurance company wanted was a weight loss held for a minimum of 6 months to a year. It doesn't hurt to call your insurance company and find out if they have stipulations for this procedure. Just be sure not to call it a tummy tuck (that's considered cosmetic). Good luck with everything.
  14. I actually have an appointment this Thursday, 1/14/10. I have my progress notes, and two letters (one from primary and one from surgeon). I called the insurance company to see if they had certain criteria, but they said it is per individual. The outlook is good so I'm staying positive. I will let you know. Good luck with your journey! Jen :smile2:
  15. Thanks Sue, I've heard pretty good things about Oxford so I'm hoping it goes okay. Jen
