Hi! I had lapband in 96. I was 235lbs. when I started the program & 230 when I went in for surgery. I gleefully went down to 168 the first year and was thrilled. I have been going up and down ever since. Initially, I threw up alot from not being able to gage fullness. I have been told that my stomach is stretched and when I asked my doctor if the band could be taken off and put back on, his response was that it looked okay to him and that that was the maximum amount of weight my body would allow me to lose. He also suggested gastric bypass if I truely wanted to lose more weight. As I do not believe that to be a healthy surgery and said no I became depressed. After a long vacation during which I ate "the wrong" foods I struggled and have continued to struggle with a 13lb. weight gain. I fluxuate from 175 to 181; somtimes up to 185. he diabetes I lost is now back. Sometimes I just give up and eat the junk food and feel really bad. I go back to logging and excercising but, injuries and hospitalizations have thrown me off course again this year. I am now doing Seattle Sutton for a week, splitting the meals into two or 600 cal. a day and have once again begun excercising in a slow manner. I really want to lose this weight and just find the stall depressing and disheartining. I so want mine to be a success story but, feel like a quasifailure. I am looking for your help and encouragement. I went thru the phase I think we all will go thru of eating the easy foods; junk, icecream etc. and am really ready to start again. Also, I am 55years old and wonder if menopause is aiding my problems. Help!
