My Edit Options settings no longer lists the Forum Skin with the option for ads on the right-hand side. What happened? I also wanted to say "thank you" to Alex and the mods. The changes are terrific, and make it much more enjoyable to spend time here on LBT. thank you!!

I can totally relate to your crazy schedule, Allison. I also have a 2 year old and work a full time job. I work for a 24hour/day call center so my work schedule is always different from day to day, and week to week. One day I might work 8am-5pm, but the next day 5pm-2am. And different days off each week, too. On the plus side, I get to work from home. Most days I get to spend most of the day with my son, and he only has to spend a couple hours a day at the babysitters. I alsob have more control over what I eat being at home, and don't have to spend money on the hour long commute to work. The downside is that with such a crazy, hectic schedule I have no routine. It's hard for me to create a new habit of exercising daily, without having a routine to stick to. Now that I've had a few fills, and have gotten the hang of bandster eating, I'm going to try and work harder on the exercise part of it. Since it's not feasible to change jobs/careers in order to work a regular mon-fri 9-5 job, I'll really have to get creative with ways to squeeze in exercise. I like the idea of 10 short bursts of exercise throughout the day. That actually sounds do-able. Maybe dancing along with my son when he watches The Wiggles? That ought to burn a few calories, and make him laugh too When he's in a co-operative mood, we sometimes stoll around the mall, since it will soon be too hot to go for a walk outside. (We live in Houston, TX) And doing more housework (with the music cranked up) wouldn't be a bad idea either. Keep the ideas and suggestions coming!

My DH also was experiencing symptoms of B-12 defiency. He's diabetic, and also had lap-band surgery in Dec '06. They initially gave him a B12 injection, just in case. After further testing it was discovered he actually anemic, and has begun an Iron supplement (Slow-Fe). Since then he has been feeling much better, but is still undergoing tests to determine the cause of the iron deficiency. It's pretty rare to see low iron in men. He's definately eats plenty of Protein. He used to be a real "meat and potatoes" kind of guy, befory the lap band. Did the clinic do any lab work on your fiance. If not, that would be the next thing to check.

I got asked to work some overtime today, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. Luckily I'm working from home today, so at least I won't be out on the road in all this cold and rain. :rain: Hopefully I'll see everyone next time around, have fun!! Jennifer -

Yeah! I'm so glad we've got a local group started!! I am definately planning on attending, and will try and bring hubby along too. I've got a 2 year old son, planning to bring him to the sitter so I can give my undivided attention to the group, but if something comes up would anyone mind if he tags along? He's pretty well-behaived, at least MOST of the time -
I've gotta chime in and say that I am 100% happy with Dr. Spiegel and his staff. My husband and I were both banded on Dec 5th by Dr. Spiegel at the brand-new University General Hospital. So far I've lost about 10lbs, and my husband is down 20lbs. We have not had any fill yet, should be doing that this week. I'll be glad to answer any questions or concerns you have about the procedure. I'm still a newbie to being banded, but I can already tell you it's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

I typically have Mon/Tues/Wed off, and could do anytime during the day or evening those days. If hubby wants to come with me, it would have to be any time on Monday, since he works until 8p Tues-Sat. I always work on the weekends, so Saturday is out for us. At least until I find a better job with weekends off. :biggrin1: -
