    Recommittig for 2011

Count me in! I have lost 50 pounds from 230 down to 180. I seem to be stuck at 180 since September (the Holidays didn't help any).My goal is 150 and these last 30 pounds seem to be going soooo slow. The first 50 went easily. I have never kept a journal but plan to starting Jan. 1st. I have slipped back into old habits as far as eating to many sweets and a hand full of carbs here and there.I never overeat at one sitting thanks to the band it won't let me but I catch myself grazing too often. My exercise has been pretty good up until Christmas week then I got a lazy and got off schedule. My fluid intake is good thanks to sugar free Kool aid and crystal light. I have been very diligent in keeping up with my fills and have a very good Dr. I also have good family support as far as I have a daughter (down 80 pounds) and son-in-law(down 50 pounds)that are banded also a good friend that was just banded yesterday.I am in need of a good support group if anyone knows of one.I live in the Mansfield/Marion Ohio area about an hour north of Columbus.Good luck everyone! With these wonderful tools in us to help we can all reach our goals and live healthy and more attractive lives. Tina

    Let's Be Thankful...

:thumbup:I am also thankful for my band. I am down 50 pounds with about 30 to go. What losing weight has done for the way I feel physically and my self esteem is priceless! Tina
  4. :wink2:elcee What is skinny hot chocolate? Thanks Tina
  5. :smile:I know what you mean by being on diets in the past and giving up because they seemed to have stop working. I am not sure how the lapband is going to work differently than the past diets I have been on. I just hope and pray it does. The thing that I keep telling myself is that if the lapband can be readjusted if needed when you stop losing weight then that will help keep you losing weight and you won't give up out of frustration and lack of motivation. That was the main reason I chose the lapband. The idea being that if the lapband takes the true belly hunger away after a small meal then I can live with that the rest of my life. Hopefully I will be healthier and thinner and used to eating small amounts of normal everyday foods and be satisfied. When my Dr. asked me what I wanted from this surgery I told him that I just want to eat like a normal person. To be able to go out with friends and be able to eat a couple small peices of pizza and be satisfied and not want to eat the 4 0r 5 pieces I would have pre lapband surgery. Go to a birthday party, wedding or Christmas party have a small plate of food and dessert and not eat like I was never going to get to eat again. Hopefully the band can help me be NORMAL. Tina
  6. Hi, My daughter and I both have had lap band surgery and Hashimotos. She has lost 80 pounds since Dec. 2009 and I have lost 50 pounds since Feb 2010. We both take synthroid. I have to say that I think that maybe the thyroid condition might have made it a little harder but if you have a good "mind set" it is definately something that you can do! By "mindset" I mean that you are ready to lose weight and will contain a positive attitude and JUST DO IT ! Thanks Tina:thumbup:

    Naming your Band :-)

Hello My band's name is Hope because I hope it works. My daughter named hers Faith because she has faith it will work. Good Luck on your journey everyone. Tina:smile:
  8. Hi Robin, My name is Tina. I was banded by Dr. C the same day you were. I was his 9:30 appointment. I had terrible shoulder pain from the gas. No hernia, I have always heard that hernia surgeries are tough to get over. I hope you have a quick healing period. I will never forget the weather that day. I live a little over an hour north of columbus. Because of road conditions and accidents it took us 7 hours to travel from the surgery center to just south of Columbus. We ended up staying all night at a hotel in Columbus. We got up the next morning and drove straight home in an hour and a half no problems. I have done well this week except for gas pain (thought I was going to lose my mind ), I am down 6 pounds I lost 17 pounds pre-op. I had plans on going back to work this morning but we have real icy rain here, I think I will wait (really understanding boss) so I am just resting more today. Good luck!!! PS Do you have a lot to lose?Tina
