Today I had my first fill 1.5 cc. I was nervous about having it done from some of the stories I've heard! It was a breeze!! My dr. told me not to worry, it wouldn't hurt. He took a small needle and numbed the area, and them immediately stuck in the big need and did the feel. The only pain I felt was from the numbing meds. He said the port was in perfect position and he could easily fill it. I'm so relieved, now I'll not worry about future fills.:tongue2:

Cooking Chicken for your band
tammth replied to john47's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks John! That sounds like something I would like to try; especially since it's nice and juicy. I'm always on the lookout for good and easy recipes. And, it seems like I eat a lot of chicken since being banded. -
Mine is over to the left side of the large incision.

Hi, I had my surgery Sept. 22 and it's took me about 10 days to feel like doing anything much. It takes time for the gas to get out, walk as much as you can it and it will help get rid of the gas. I lost 24 lbs. from my pre-op diet until 3 weeks post. surgery. I am now 4 weeks post-op and feel good. There are times when my belly feels funny, but not bad or hurting. Good luck to you and hope you do well!! Don't worry to much about your weight loss right now, now is the time for healing up from your surgery. Tammie

How long were you out of work post-op??
tammth replied to MissTeach123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would wait until you are feeling up to it to go back to work. When I had my surgery 9/22 it took me a good 2 weeks before I felt like doing anything. It's best to take it easy than to push yourself. Good Luck to you! -
My band was seen floating!!!
tammth replied to lisette1079's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is it possible he saw the tube 'floating' that connects to the band and the port? I can't imagine the band floating. I sincerely hope that all works out for you and that everything is ok. -
Post Op 6 days and still have pain?
tammth replied to Karen12345's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 weeks post-op and the port area has just now quit hurting. Also the incision next to the port is still bruised. I think the port is probably the worst part of the surgery for being sore. I asked the same question 8 days post-op! I heard stories about people being fine and feeling no pain during the 1st week; I was beginning to think something was wrong with me. I think the healing process is different with everybody. Good Luck! You should be feeling lots better soon. -
Stupidity=me...interesting new kind of exercise...
tammth replied to b9409's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like something I might do!! Try filling up the tub just above the dye stains and put in some clorox and let it soak over night. Clorox works good on most anything.......But, keep your black pants away from the clorox! -
I am so sorry you had to go through that. I haven't heard of it before, but it's a shame it had to happen. Don't let it get to you, try to forget about what happened and enjoy your correct size band. I know it's easier said than done, but don't dwell on it. Just hope you new band is what you need and continue from there. Good Luck!:wink2:

how has your body changed?
tammth replied to moviestartaal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband was telling me last night he really noticed it in my face, neck, collarbone area and legs. I can tell it in my butt also, but my waist doesn't seem to be going anywhere! -
Head Hunger getting me down...
tammth replied to Celestial's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Celestial I know just how you feel. I am 14 days post op and still have the same problem. I can walk near the kitchen and I stop and look to see what is there to eat, then I realize what I'm doing and walk away. The head hunger is the hardest part of this new life. Maybe we'll get over it before too long and if anyone has advice I'd love to hear it too.
