New Here! Day 5 After Lap Band Surgery!

I agree with those telling you to walk as much as possible - keep yourself moving! Also - follow the diet your doctors office tells you to. Even tho we are all bandsters, every experience we have is unique - yours will be as well. I wish you much success, and if you have questions, just ask. Good Luck, and Happy Thanksgiving!

    New LBT...not liking it

Hang in there! It's always going to be something...a holiday, a birthday, anniversary, etc....and part of being banding is learning how your own body is going to react under all circumstances. It was so easy for me to put on weight - when I was happy, I ate - when I was unhappy, I ate - when I was stress-free, I ate, when I was stressed to my limits, I ate....mad, sad, ecstatic, you name the emotion, I celebrated it with food. However, I am now a better person for learning how to NOT use food as my crutch, my comfort, my weapon of choice. I made the choice to be healthier ....and no, it's not always fun to sit around a Thanksgiving table heavy with food at watch other people eat. I do, however, like to get up from that table and feel so good about myself. I like not having to unbutton my pants to accomodate my swollen stomach. I like having the energy to take a post-dinner walk with my family. I like making memories that do not revolve around food. Hang in there - this is a beginning of a whole new you! Healthier, smaller, more confident....I wish you a wonderful holiday season!

    Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to you! We all have so much to be thankful for this year! I wish you continued success!
  11. I am doing well. I so understand about the eating....putting my fork down between bites really slowed me down, and made me more aware of how fast, and how much I was eating.

  12. I am doing okay, just still really tired and not doing so well with mushy food. I am grinding up most food but other then that I am just chewing smaller portions fairly well. I think I will be surprised once I get a fill that I am not actually chewing that well. I think because by the time I eat I am soooo hungry.

    How are you doing?

  13. how are you? Hope you are recovering well!

  14. Surgery was November 2, 2010 and I made the mistake of not getting fluids the other day and feel exhausted. However, I will get the hang of this, I know I will.
