My question is this. If welfare was good enough for you when you were 19, why is it not good enough for the 19 year old today? THis is your postion. You did it for 2 years. You said you took advantage of it. Are you saying all people who get on welfare are leeches like you say you were? That is why you object to WIC? Because you know you took advantage of it?

It was good enough for you but people simply can't have the problems you had back then. They can't possibly need that 2 year leech spot that you had. That was the second dumbest thing I have heard on this thread. What is this illness that is infecting people? What is so hard about knowing we need to raise taxes to support our lifestyle? Every informed person knows this. Even if we never had this health care, we would still need to raise taxes. Apparently there is a blind spot somewhere, cause people don't get it. Since we already need to, why not get the insurance every poor and some middleclass people need?

I have an idea. Why don't people who don't want regulation go live where there is no regulation. That would solve a lot of problems. Bottom line

Our taxes have to go up. That would have been the case even before healthcare. This budget shortfall has been happening in states way before healthcare or the stimulus but the governors and such don't want to do it since it would be a risk to their election. We need to raise taxes regardless and they need to start doing that since as people are fond of saying we don't have any money. We have been out of money since before the crash of the economy. They needed to do it more than 5 years ago to make a difference. Now its inevitable but people want to blame it on the big stimulus and health care. Bush should have did it 2 years after got into office if not sooner.

I thought the thread said mandated auto insurance? Please post health care information in the health care thread. Back to auto mandated insurance, stated in previous thread, dumb straw man argument. Not everyone can drive because of vision, age, physical capacity and mental capacity. Since those factors and a few others exist in this society, there won't be a mandate. Not to mention as I stated before, you can't make people get a car or get a license for a car they don't have nor make handicap people capable to drive or children drive or people to old to drive, no mandate. What else?

Government is in charge of many things and very few thought the world as we know it would end before. Now we have been asking for healthcare for how long?
