That took some guts my man. Your not alone with not having any male friends, I have my child hood friends that live 500 miles away but none around town to hang out with. I wouldn't be to worried about, heck when i do something with my Bro in law or Father in law, I wish my wife was there to share the experience anyway. Your emotion tend to change the older you get. I am a very satisfied customer. Dr. Nimurul and his staff are very professional. Dr. Skinner does the fills and she is dead on every time! I would highly recommend them.

I was banded 04/09/2010, Begining weight in Jabuary was 325ls. Current weight as of today 266. So woth my stats out of the way I wanted to share with you all my NSV. About three weeks ago my 13 year old son who is a senior patrol leader for his scout troop tells me he is going on a 20 mile hike in three weeks. I start to thinking and decide what the heck lets try it! Well I left Thursday through some of the roughest country in the Arizona mountains, 7 miles a day with a 40lb back pack my 10 year old son, my 13 year old son, 17 other scouts, and two other leaders. We finished the trip yesterday at 2pm, what an experience. I want to thank the LAP-BAND® for helping me take my life back. If I hadnt made the decision to get teh LAP-BAND® I would have waived to my boys as they went on this awesome journey, instead I got to share it with them! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! AWESOME! Congrats to you, I too have had to do the walk of shame at Knotts Berry farm in So Cal. Not fun, one of my goals is to be able to comfortably ride all the rides. Congrats again!

I went in to the surgery with a mild sore throat. The week after I had a horrible swollen soar throat. When i swallowed it felt as though something in my throat was moving back and forth. I believe the reason it got worse after the surgery is from the tube they put in your throat for anastisia (oops spelled that one so wrong the spell check wouldn't even pick it up).

You know what I do when I am about to have a snack attack? Have a snack. I surely don't over do it like I used to, but i have a snack if i want one. This way i don't go on an all out binge some day when I crack. good luck :confused:

MarsMom, I am certain of it. I was at a stand still since surgery, about 2 months. Once I commited to exercising the weight has just been falling off. Now I have to admitt that I could have reached this mini goal early, but my food choices would not be the best on the weekends. Since I posted thisI have lost 3 more lbs. It is very exciting to see the scale move like this.

Stepped on the scale last night and was pleasantly surprised! 50lb loss since January. I was 325 January 1, 315 at start of preop diet, 297 on surgery day (04-09-10) and 275.5 this AM. Feels good! :thumbup::party:

My fills are relatively easy! I go in lay down with a pillow in the small of my back. They find the port, administer the numbing medication, which stings a bit. Then they do the fill. My PA talks to me about different things the whole time and it really keeps my mind off of the procedure. All in all it is a decent event. Good luck! Wayne

I believe it is right after wards. They can also test your breath but they say the stool is more accurate. If you didnt know, your blood will always test positive for Hpilori now. So they will have to do the breath or stool to check in the future. Hope this helps.

I didnt have to, my wife did it for me! I asked her not to tell any one about the surgery that it was a family matter between us. Turns out the only one she didnt tell was my Brother and Best friend! I had a good laugh after I calmed down and still razz her about it. No one knew about the surgery prior to, it was after the fact that they all found out about it. They have all been supportive which surprises me cause I work in a prison. Now I get the occasional how much have you lost now question, but for the most part they leave me alone about it.

Productive burping. Its not throwing and its not burping. Its a burp with the stuck food.

I had the same thing. It went away, but returns at times.
