After watching so many of the women in my family have some sort of bariatric weight loss surgery I felt like I had been left in the dust. My mom had her surgery in Mexico about 4 and a half years ago. She went from an 18 to a six, sometimes a four. My sister then followed suit and had her surgery in Mexico about a year later going form a size 16 to a size four. My step mother, her sister, and her mother all had gastric bipasses here in the states through their insurance companies and all lost astonishing amounts of weight. I, from the beginnings of their surgeries would have given anything to have one of these surgeries but here I was four years later and still the only fat one in my family...and I needed it worse them a couple of them. I was married in 2008 and things were good for a while but with the both of us being so young and rushing into our marriage, things got rocky and we separated after some things that occured that I'm still trying to forgive. I moved to arkansas to be away from my husband and closer to my dad and step mom and after two months of living in Jonesboro, I drove my car directly into a tree and almost died. Not only was my entire family stunned and fearing for my life, I frankly had a come to God experience and have opened my eyes every morning thanking God I'm alive for the first time in my life. Almost dieing puts things into perspective and I decided to take control. I had some help from my mom but I think the surgery was worth every penny...and all the pain. It's been less than a month, I haven't had a fill yet and last week I had already lost 22 pounds ....I don't remember the last time I lost twenty two pounds, It's truly amazing.
