I lost this much by pretty much following exactly what they told me to do! I work out 5 times a week for 45 minutes and I eat basically only healthy, high quality foods. I try to stay away from processed foods as much as I can. I also drink a lot of water. My weight loss has slowed down considerably. I may need a fill, but it will be the first time that I have needed one and I am now 8 months post-op. My advice it to look at this process as an all around change and work on EVERYTHING! So, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually (whatever that means to you personally!). Good luck and I hope that you are successful

I also started out walking. I started to make it more challenging by going further, faster and adding hills. I now do Zumba, ride a bike, and I can even jog! I probably wouldn't have been able to jog 15 seconds before and now I am up to a mile! Just add little things every day like taking the stairs. Elevators don't exist in my world anymore I am almost 8 months out and I am thinking about getting my first fill. I only have filled what they filled during surgery. I can eat a lot more than a cup at a sitting so I am thinking that it is now time to go in and have it adjusted. I hope that you are feeling better and I know that you will do well because you sound motivated and open to change

Hello! I have never felt hungry like I did before. It makes me wonder how much of the hunger was all in my head all along. I question myself before I eat if it is time to eat and if what I am eating is healthy. It took me about 7 months post-op to lose 125 lbs (including the pre-op diet). I am 0.3 lbs away from 130 now and June 29th will be 8 months post-op. It has definitely slowed down, but if I look at averages, I am averaging right about 2 lbs/week. The first 6 months I was averaging around 4 lbs/week! I do work-out, but not like a crazy person I try to workout 5 times/week for 45-60 minutes. I really don't have a secret besides changing many aspects of my life. I try to be around as many positive people as I can be, I eat 98% of the time very healthy foods, I exercise, I drink a lot of water, I take vitamins, and I work on the mental games that my brain tries to play with me. I don't play into cravings, although I still have them. If I do, it is a tiny tiny bite

You're funny I am single, thanks for the reminder! I've learned that I can smile and wave and get free things...yay! I am hoping that what I get will even out the cost of the surgery..j/k Good luck to you! Thanks for the picture comment!

No problem! In the morning I eat All Bran with Splenda and skim milk. For lunch I usually have a salad with some kind of protein with the dressing on the side. I just dip my fork in the dressing and use an incredibly small amount. For dinner I will eat a chicken breast and veggies or maybe very lean ground turkey with no sugar added pasta sauce with veggies. For a snack I like to eat the 94% fat free popcorn (usually they suggest waiting to eat popcorn until you are 6 months out) or string cheese. Greek yogurt is a wonderful snack or breakfast because you can find kinds that are fat free and just packed with protein. I really do eat a large variety of foods but those are my staples!

My diet consists of around 1000 calories/day. I don't follow a certain diet, but I have heard that Weight Watchers is a good introduction to eating correctly and learning what to eat and how much to eat. I eat protein first and do not eat foods high in fat or sugar. I also try to eat foods that are high in fiber. I really try to just eat to fuel my body, now especially, because I work out fairly intensely. But, to answer your question you absolutely have to watch what you eat after the surgery and eat healthy. It's scary because once you are about 4 months out you can basically eat everything. All of the bad foods will go down just as easily as the good foods so you need to be very mindful of your diet. I hope that helps

I don't have an answer to your question! I have worked incredibly hard and followed all of the instructions given to me by the bariatric center. I count every calorie I eat and I try to do some sort of physical exercise everyday. My weight loss has slowed down but now I can run a mile when before I probably couldn't have run for 30 seconds. You should be proud of what you have accomplished because every pound you lose is helping you to become more healthy. Take care

Hello! It made me happy to see your pictures and your success! I was banded 10/29/09 and I have lost 124 lbs so far and I am finally in a size 16! I was happy to see your pics from the 5k. I am training for a sprint triatholon this summer...congratualations on your success

I think I felt fuller quicker in the beginning! I can eat a lot more than I did before (although I don't push it!). When I first got the surgery, I was NEVER hungry and I found eating to difficult because I had to blend everything or mash it up. It is important to start right away making healthy choices so that when you are able to eat more, you don't go over board. Listen to your body more than your head

What you have lost is equally awesome! You are healthier and that is really what matters, not the number of pounds I have stepped up my exercise routine, but I don't do anything excessive...usually 45-60 minutes of cardio 3-5x/week. I limit my calorie intake to around 900 calories a day. I basically try to eat high protein, high fiber and low fat/calorie foods. I don't really limit where I eat because I can usually ask for foods without sauce or mayo. I also limit my portion sizes and I still am never all that hungry. I hope that sticks around for awhile so I can hit goal and maintain!!!

Hello! Thanks for the photo comment I am 27 years old. The sagging skin, well...it's better than being morbidly obese! To be totally honest, I do have some on my breasts, stomach, and inner thighs, all which can be camoflaged. It is more than 100% worth it to lose the weight. I am now down 124 lbs and the sagging skin is not that bad. I also figured that I might need to invest in plastic sugery someday so I am more concerned with being healthy than if my skin sags a little. I am pleasantly surprised that my arms are starting to take shape and are not sagging. The positive things that have changed totally outweigh the little wrinkles on my belly
