Hey everyone. Wow everyone is doing so good. I am also doing good I am down 80 pounds and counting. I am finally at the weight I was when I got married so I am pretty happy about that. With the gall bladder problems I was completely unfilled and so I only have 3 cc's so I need some fluid in this band. But I still have lots of restriction.

Hi everyone. Here is my quick story. Banded Oct 12th. Felt great! Got first fill Nov 12th felt 3 ccs in a 10 cc band. Felt pretty good for a couple weeks some restriction but not where I would like. 2 weeks into fill became very restricted and gassy, stomach pains, painful burps. I would almost pb or slime on everything. Dr. totally unfilled me and thought possible gall bladder. He was right had emergency gall bladder surgery one week ago. Got out of the hospital the next day and felt okay I was able to eat without the pbing or sliming. Then 2 days after I got out of the hospital I came down with a gastro intestinal bacteria and got really sick ended up going back into the hospital for two days. Since then I feel really restricted. Not pbing or sliming just feel like I can't eat much more then 1/2 cup. I can get water down fine. My question is does everyone think I am okay or is this restricted feeling with no fill just from all the trauma in my belly from the gall bladder surgery and bacteria? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks everyone. Jodi

hi friends. Well I was on the road to recovery after my gall bladder removal on Friday then Saturday I developed a high high fever of 103.5. I couldn't stop having diareahha and wanted to vomit. Thank God I only threw up once. I ended up getting dehydrated and went to the ER because I was afraid something was wrong from the gall bladder surgery. I was admitted to the hospital for two more days. Apparently I caught a nasty flu that my body couldn't fight off. I am home now and ready to recover. Thanks for all the well wishes. The good news is that weight is falling off. I think I am going to stayed unfilled for awhile until I feel 100 percent. Good job everyone. Jodi

Well everyone yesterday I had emergency gall bladder surgery and I am on the mend again! Apparently a stone was stuck in the bile duct and caused my gall bladder to be infected. Even though I am recovering with pain on my right side and that wonderful gas pain again, I feel soooo much better. Doctor said I could get a fill again in a couple weeks. Today I was so pleased I was able to rest comfortably and jello and crackers are sitting so nicely in my tummy. Its been a very scary couple of weeks and i pray I am on the road to recovery. The painful burps, back pain, bloating, and abdominal buring is all gone..AMEN

well a little update on me. Since my unfill yesterday I am feeling a little relief. My doctor called and said my white blood cells were really high and that my body is fighting some infection. She is still convinced it is a gall bladder so I am going for that ultrasound Friday morning. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am still gonna make it to that 10 pounds before Christmas Go Us!!!

Hi everyone. I am so upset right now. Went in for my fill today and not only did I not get one they totaly unfilled me, sent me to lab for blood work, and to radiology for an ultra sound. Apparently with the really high restriction I've been having and the big weight loss and back pain my doctor thinks I could be having gall bladder problems. I am just upset. I was going along so well. My DH got another 1.5 cc's. Three beauties. To me restriction felt like if I had any thing thicker then water it would gurgle down. If I tried to eat it would usually get stuck in my esopagus then slime its way out. I had pretty much given up on anything but creamy stuff. I am also having a very hard time with constant hiccups, burps, and gas. They are pretty painful. And I hate to complain because I truely feel this band is a gift from God and I knew it wouldn't always be a cake walk. I just hope the test come back okay and I can get filled again soon. Jodi

Just checking in I am down 3 pounds for the challenge 7 more to go and I should be able to do it I get my second fill on Tuesday. Hope you all have a good week. I am really very restricted I am not sure if I will get that next fill or not. Seems like I can't eat most things without getting "stuck" or sliming. Jodi

Hi everyone. Please help me. Here is what is going on. On Sunday I had an issue with some pizza getting stuck, this is the first time thats happened to me. I ended up sliming that day since then it hurts to eat and almost everything gets stuck. I didn't think my band was to tight I was filled almost two weeks ago, so the stuck happened a week after the fill. I am wondering what I should do here. This is great for my weight loss but I am starting to feel a little weak. Let me know if anyone has a thought. Thanks Jodi

hi everyone. I've had a interesting week. Last Sunday I had some pizza get stuck and I think it irratated my Stoma so this week I haven't been tolerating much. For a second when I ate that pizza I forgot I was banded. Be careful when pizza is around. On the positive side I guess I got the whole first PB and Slime out of the way. Take care everyone. Jodi

Well guys I got my first fill today. 3cc's in a 10cc band. It went super well. My husband also got his I asked for a little lidocane and felt nothing. My hubby did it with out any numbing agent and he did great. I am down a total of 41 pounds (20 prediet and 21 since surgery) My hubby is down 31 (20 prediet and 11 since surgery). I still don't know how the restriction is since we are on liquids for 24 hours. They had us drink some water before we left and it went down fine. I haven't eaten anything else today as I'm a little nervous. We also had our first session with the dietician and that was very informative. If you are soon getting a fill don't waste anytime worrying about it, its a piece of cake. They got my hubbys right away but it took about 3 minutes of moving the needle around tell she found mine it was such and odd feeling but there again it didn't hurt. Have a good day everyone.

Hey guys I need some advice. I have noticed the last couple of days after I take one or two bites of anything I get a pain in my middle back like its stuck. It doens't matter what it is I am trying to eat. Then after a minute or two it does away. Anyone got any ideas? Any advice would be great..

Christine you know I would still go to the party, I would just make sure you are really in tune with your signs of fullness and when you get full simply stop. If you eat a little of everything on your plate I am sure no one will even notice. Just take your time chew really good and savor each bite. You'll be fine. I have my first fill on Monday and I will let you know how it goes but I bet its a piece of cake. Take care.

I got banded on the 12th and I go in for a fill on the 13th. Almost exactly 4 weeks. I am a little nervous but I am ready for more restriction. Raynie its weird you mentioned your back hurting mine has been hurting really bad the last couple days after sitting. I am thinking the reason could be because I was walking with a hunch after surgery cause it hurt to stand straight up and maybe now the muscles are rebelling. I am not sure if anyone knows let me know. Lost another pound.. Wooohoooo

Hi everyone. I'm 3 weeks out now and weight loss has really slowed.. I think it is because I am able to eat many more things now. I am not worried though because I am eating so much less then before. Just think when I can exercise (about another week) the weight should start coming off again. I wanted to tell you all about something I found at wal-mart today by the protein shakes. Its called K2o and its by kellogs. Its a flavored water that has 5 grams of protein in each bottle. It actually tastes really good so that is one way to sneak in some extra protein and to get some water. I am finding I am not having any trouble with the water I've been very thirsty. Wanna hear something else so great. I am officially off all my diabetes medication. Blood sugars are looking great!! Life is good and I love my band. Hope everyone is doing good.

joy joy the residue should come off with a little soap and water.. I would leave the bandaids on when you are up and about but when you are not risking anything rubbing on it my doctor said to keep them uncovered and get some air to them.

namazj-- as far as the gas goes I found that gasx is fairly useless but what seems to work for me is walk walk walk, stretching also seems to help move it along. I hope this helps you. Good luck and walk it off. jodi

moon goddess I started back up Monday. I found that I got tired really fast. I am not sure if it is from healing of if it is from the lower amount of calories. But yesterday was better and today was better yet so don't get discouraged if you feel wore out cause it will get better each day.
