I have been overweight my entire life. I hit my highest weight of 375 a couple of years ago and was diagnosed with Metabolic Insulin Resistance and PCOS. I had been researching the Lap Band on my own for about 2 years. Last year I decided to call my insurance and see if perhaps I could get it covered and I was told that they were beginning to cover the procedure. I was so totally excited. I went to the meetings and before I knew it I was on the operating table having the procedure done. I am 7 weeks post op and have lost 15 pounds. I never knew how bad I felt until I began to feel better. I am so happy that I made this decision.
