  1. Got 'em! Thank you! PM(s) coming back atcha...

  2. I have about three more months to go before my paperwork can be submitted....

Have you gotten a response yet?

  3. It's going alright - halfway through my required weightloss program...I am ready to be done with this and onto the next stage!

    How about you?

  4. Well I certainly hope this process can go quicker for you. The insurance thing is a joke but I am appreciative of having help with the cost of it! I'll keep looking for your blog as I like that we are in pretty much the same stage of things. Hopefully I'll have my surgery in the April/May time frame...

  5. You are quite welcome. I hope your doc can get you in quickly. I would be tired of that, too!

  6. I am glad you are reassured with your choice. That helps immensely and should lead to success! And I agree, I support you in yours - we are both after the same goal and I think how we get there is a detail - it's the mindset that makes the difference - whatever helps give you the mindset that makes this happen is the right choice to make.

As for Dr. Hollis - yeah, he's part of the True Results group but he also has a clinic of his own. I'm with True Results now for the work up and then for the surgery I go back to Dr. Hollis and afterwards it's my choice. I don't like having to drive into the medical center...but I know my surgery will be at Memorial Hermann SE.

Dr. Hollis has the same strictness - no bread except on your cheat day. You get one cheat day a week. On that day you can eat whatever you want, but the other six you have to be striving for ketosis.

I would like to keep in touch, too. And keep blogging, too.

  7. Thank you! I hope you can find happiness with yours because you certainly have a lot of work to be proud of! I just can't help saying it again - but different this time - you are stunning!

  8. I saw that from your blog and from a comment on someone else's blog. I have looked at it and decided I didn't like it. I like that the band is reversible. My husband and I have not started our family yet and I like that the band can be adjusted to accomodate pregnancy. And I do not like that the sleeve is meant to be part of a two step-process with an actual bypass at the second stage. I think the sleeve is too much like bypass in the first place and longterm bypass patients do not perform as well as band patients.

LOL - I can't say Cigna sucks anymore than any other insurance company. When I called and verified by myself I was happy with the response. :) In my world, my "advocate(s)" suck. They were misinformed and could have easily derailed me yesterday! Such a game, though - that's for sure - and games just make me...sigh...GRRR!!!

What surgeon and clinic are you going through? I'm with Dr. Hollis and am doing all this workup stuff through True Results....

  9. No worries - it took me quite awhile to find this, too. :)

That was me on my wedding day last year. Not quite my normal appearance. :)

I have not attended any and would be interested in attending one, actually. I'm actually surprised my clinic is not suggesting it.

I understand the feeling. It's nice to have a friend on here that lives close by (mostly), too.

  10. I'm working my way through your blog and what a gem it is to read through! I feel like I'm reading my very own thoughts.

  11. You live in League City? Me, too!

  12. I just discovered how to get to these - sorry for not responding sooner. I love reading your blogs - you have such a great way of telling your story. And sometimes the rose colored glasses do help. :)

  13. That's crazy! Yep, Houston - I am in League City, to be exact. That's awesome!

  14. BG - I love your blogs and I love your support! Thank you for being you! I hope you know that you are an inspiration - your attitude is refreshing and enlightening and I find that I can't wait to see what you say next!
