2-4 TBS are they NUTS
cristinbyers replied to marmar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's perfectly normal to start feeling a little more hungry now that you're advancing to different food stages. From what I understand, as long as you don't eat to the point of vomiting, you're band will be fine. I've had the same concerns considering I haven't had any fills yet (I'm 3 months out from when I was banded) and am able to eat close to how much I was eating before I was banded. Maybe try and call your doctor and see what he/she suggests? Until you're able to talk to your doctor, I would stick to eating no more than what you've been eating and just continue to monitor what you're eating and how you're able to handle it. Stick with it! -
Congrats on your loss of 71 lbs! That's amazing! Even though it's not 100 lbs, you're just about 3/4 of the way there. From what my doctor tells me, most of his patients lose that amount (100 lbs or so) between 12-18 mos, so sounds like you're still in the zone for more weight loss before it begins to steady out. Just continue doing what you're doing and staying motivated!

Anyone losing weight without any fills?
cristinbyers posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just over 3 months post-band and have successfully lost right at 39 lbs since my surgery. I have had no fills and since starting solids, have been able to eat as much as I was able to before the surgery. At my last few appointments I brought this up with my doctor and he thinks that as long as I am losing weight there is no need for a fill. Now don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that I have been able to eat with no problems and lose weight! I guess I'm just worried that I will stretch out my pouch or stop losing, due to being able to eat as much as I have been. I've tried cutting my portions down, and still feel extremely hungry. This last month has been real slow for me as I have only lost about 3 lbs and will see my doctor again next Monday, 10-12-09. I'm wondering if it is now time for a fill or if he still wants to wait and see how I do without a fill. I've been continuing to exercise regulary and count my calories, it's just the amount I'm able to eat really surprises me. Any weight loss makes me happy and keeps me motivated! -
how has your body changed?
cristinbyers replied to moviestartaal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have a way to go, but I've noticed the most change in my face, fingers, breasts and feet. I'm noticing my legs are toning up a little and still trying to work on the arm flab. I'm definitely happy with what results I'm seeing this far, and can't wait to see what is yet to come! -

Congratulations! I'm even more motivated and inspired by your story! It's good to know you're able to eat a little more like before and still maintain the weight loss! Keep it up! -
