I love chicken pot pie so I have learned to make it by scratch. Does anyone know if it is really bad for you since I have started leaving off any crust and not using any potato's. I also use corn starch instead of flour to thicken it. Instead of butter to fry the onions in I use canola oil. I am trying to make a healthier version because I like it so much.

This post is great, I feel the same way I have 20lbs left to lose and the past week I only ended up at the gym twice and just kind of not caring. I am kind of like well if I don't lose anymore I am still at a good weight. My motivation just seemed to go down hill overnight. Maybe next week will be different and I will get back on track!!!!

Lapband: The Gift That Keeps on Giving!
jen36 replied to 2beskinny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You know I felt what you felt last night, my family and myself went a local pizza place I was in comfort food mode lots of stress going on right now and I had one slice of pizza and we ordered cheese fries well I didn't get to eat the whole slice and had a few fries and I was so disappointed b/c I wanted to eat all of it and maybe another slice, well I ended up in the bathroom vomiting at the pizza place I guess I ate too fast but I was so upset b/c I really wanted to eat everything!!!!!! For a second I missed the preband eating but feeling much better today and so grateful I wasn't able to eat more!!!! Love the band! -
How long before you know if.....
jen36 replied to MaineJackie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually experienced it last night and I actually ended up vomiting. I ate a croissant which I should have known better because bread is really not my friend anymore but I did it anyway and it took awhile of spitting up and vomiting to feel better but the stuck feeling was immediate for me. -
I hate to admit it but at least 5 times a day. Today is the first day I haven't done that and I am trying to stay away from it a bit. I am driving myself nuts and not good for my daughter to see that kind of behavior...

Exercise ideas to prevent flabby arms? Legs?
jen36 replied to brew44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am down 52lbs and have 20 more to go to reach goal and I have saggy underarm skin and I just can't get rid of it no matter how hard I try. I guess its just one of those things you have to get used to. Also I notice my knee are and upper front of my thigh area is a little saggy as well. Oh well I would rather be healthy and thin and have a little loose skin!!!!! -
I am the same way I was down to 139 now back to 140 and seem to be sitting there and not moving and my calories are about 1000 a day with cardio 5 times a week for about an hour and sometimes a little longer each day. At this point I only have 20lbs left to hit goal weight so I am just going to continue doing what I have been and not stressing over it anymore and when it comes off it comes off!!!!!!! It seems like I prob lose about 7lbs a month and that seems to happen only about 2wks out of the month sometimes I lose less then that. It is frustrating at times especially when your doing what your supposed to and that scale doesn't move... We just have to keep at it, its a constant battle...

Avg # of fills under Fluoroscopaty
jen36 replied to tannie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not had any of my fills under Fluro but I have had three so far which has brought me to 5.66cc's in my band and I feel pretty good right now and the last visit my dr. said I don't really need anymore at this time b/c I seem to be losing on a good pace.... -
I go most weeks 5 days a week from 1hr to 1 and like 10minutes. I try to burn (what the readout says) anywhere from 500 to 700 calories. I do the treadmill and most of the time I do 10 or 11 incline at 4.2 speed. Today I worked myself up to 4.5mph. Last week I started doing two days of that doing intervals on the treadmill the last 20 minutes where I do 30 seconds of running at 7.0 and then stopping at walking at 3.0 for a minute and going back and forth. I dropped 3lbs this week so it must be doing something. I LOVE THE GYM!!!!! It has changed my body..

Thanks for all the input!!!! And Kalipso2 you are doing great and I wouldn't listen to the dr. just keep going until you are personally happy with where you are. My husband said to me this morning you look really thin I wouldn't lose anymore weight, while I thank him for his input I am going to get to my goal weight of 120!!!!!! I have not been there since I was a teenager and I am so close now I can taste it!!!!!!! Hey if the nutionist gave me this goal weight then darn it I am aiming for that!!!!! We can all do it!!!!! -
24lbs in first 4 weeks... why so fast in the start?
jen36 replied to GipsyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded in May and it seems to be steady for me like 1 to 2lbs a week which is fine for me. I have hit a couple of really slow points but seem to get through them. Keep it up and you will be fine especially once you hit restriction then you should be good but remember exercise is very important to be successful overall.. Good luck!!!! -
I just got my blood results back and my cholesterol has gone up almost 20 points since my lapband surgery in May. The dr. has called me a prescription for a lowering drug but then also said in 8 weeks i have to go back to have my liver checked from the drugs. Is there anyway to lower my levels without medications? Has anyone had any success with this? I do have a family history of heart disease which she said could be genetic and that is why it is going up. I am disappointed that I am losing weight but that is going up??? PLEASE HELP???

High cholesterol, how can i lower?
jen36 replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting the cheerios and oatmeal tonight. I am also going to get some omega 3 and I think I will try the flax seed oil!!!!! Thanks for the advice. I am def. worried about taking a prescription, I haven't heard alot of good things about those so I would rather try natural first... Wish me luck!!!! -

is anyone noticeing your weight loss?
jen36 replied to Elliottsmama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1lb away from losing 50lbs and I can honestly say it took until about 35 to 40lbs for there to be a huge difference in my looks now everyone keeps telling me I should stay where I am at but I have 21lbs more to go.. I am going all the way. It has been kind of slow for me too I was banded in May but I did have 71lbs to lose so its not as much as most people but I am very happy where I am at right now. Don't worry people will notice just give it some time and the more you exercise the quicker the weight loss will be and you will start toning things up. I have gone from size 16 pants and about a 2x shirt to a size 10 pants I think maybe even smaller than that to a size medium shirt!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED -
Happy halloween everyone!!!!!

jen36 replied to sekinj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is just so funny, the way you made that sound but soooooo true. -
Just checking in to see how all the May bandsters are doing? I am down 48lbs, been kind of slow and hit alot of plateau's but I am very happy with the results, I have 23lbs left to hit my goal weight so I can't complain. Exercising a whole lot which my hubby thinks I am over doing it but can you really????? hahahaha it combats the crappy eating I do every now and then. Love to hear where everyone is at.

Thinking I need an adjustment
jen36 replied to alilbittyna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I have had 3 fills since I have been banded in May and my band is a little picky some times of the day I can eat anything and other times I absolutely cannot eat any type of bread. If your losing weight 1 to 2lbs a week then I would say you don't need a fill, just because things may go down easily doesn't necessarily mean you need a fill. Also if your ok going 3 to 4hrs in between meals then you don't need a fill as well!!!! Just keep up the good work and don't worry about slipping one time on pizza we all do it and I do it kind of often but I am still losing and I exercise my butt off. GOOD LUCK!!!!! -

Soulsista, My first fill I believe was sometime in June and then my second was like July 16th and then my last one was August 27th and I am up to 5.66cc's. I think I could maybe use a little bit more but dr. says no more I am on a good pace.... -
BMI 35.7 and I want to lose 80lbs how long am I looking at?
jen36 replied to mikki21's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well in the very beginning I was doing 3x a week at the gym for like 30 minutes, the past few months I have been doing a little over an hour a day for either 4 or 5 times a week. I usually do the treadmill and have the incline all the way up to 9 or 10 and at like 4.1 for the majority of the time. I try to keep my calories around 1000 but some days that is kind of difficult and I go above. The past two weeks though I have been gaining and taking off the same 2lbs. which is annoying but I will get past that. All I know is I love going to the gym it is now a habit and I feel so guilty when I don't go!!!!!!! I CAN HONESTLY SAY I LOVE MY BAND!!! -

I had 71lbs to lose, banded May 3rd 2010 and I am down 48lbs which is great for me. I have only had 3fills so far. The last time I went to the dr. was beginning of Oct and he would not give me another b/c I am losing the 2lbs a week. Right now I have hit a wall but with lots of hard work and going harder with the exercise I will get over it!!!!!! Good luck.
