    I don't get it

I am so frusterated right now because After my first 2 weeks from surgery I basically stopped losing wieght all together. In fact I have gained back 5 pounds. Its been about 4 weeks or so since I had surgery, I thought I would maybe lose 2 pounds a week but this gaining thing is really upsetting me. I dont feel like I am eating alot more then I was before, I am basically still eating mushy foods. I feel like I may have to stay on liquids for the rest of my life to lose anything. The most solid food I eat is an egg, what will happen when I eat regular foods. I dont eat more then 3 times a day also and its still stuff like cottage cheese or sugar free Jello, or those shakes from my pre-op diet that I still have a ton of. Okies wanna go cry now talk to u soon. -Gummiebear

    I don't get it

Thx guys that does make me feel alot better. Its just hard cuz I live in such a small town and it seems like everyone knows I had this done (Not because I told them either) Thats how small we are u cant take a pee without someone finding out. I was going to keep it a secret but HAHA Ya right like that could happen. Half are waiting for me to fail and the other half want me to do well. I am feeling the pressure.
  3. I was banded on the 16th of this month and I have been taking it pretty easy for the most part just doing small things here and there. My recovery is going pretty smoothly but I have a bunch of small children and was out of food plus school is starting. So I had to go grocery shopping, by the time I got home I thought I was going to about die because now I have alot of pain in my stomach. I didnt really lift anything I made my older child do it for me. So, I wonder how long until I will be good enough to do things. I dont have much time until I have to run 3 kids around for school (only a couple days). Just the walking from shopping did me in.

    Too Good To Be True?

    Too Good To Be True?

So this may not be something to complain about but I was just banded this week and I was expecting many complications from it but so far I havent had anything happen which seems to good to be true. The only thing I can really complain about is the fact that my surgery sites are very sore. Other then that I am kinda bothered by the fact that I dont know what the meaning of the word "Restriction" is yet. Makes me worry if the band isnt on right or something. Or maybe I am just not eating enough? I drink water just fine also, does resitriction occur after your first ajustment? Its my understanding you dont get you first ajustment until 6 weeks after. Other then site soreness I feel the same post-op as I do pre-op. Freeks me out.
  6. I had to have EKG clearance before my band. I was really worried they would cancel my surgery because from the time of the first EKG with the cardiac clearance and the pre-op EKG there was additional changes, But since they had the clearance they didnt cancel it. It said at some point with in that month could have possibly had some sort of heart attack which I think I would have noticed. I am 30 and have had some birth defects so they think its possible the EKG could have been reading scar tissues from a previous surgery I had or maybe I really did have something going on I dont know about yet. Last I knew my total cholesterol is 135. Since the EKG was a paliminary and all the results are not even in yet I am going to have to call on Monday and see whats going on with it just to be sure if I need to make a trip to the cardiologist. Just extra stuff to take care of.

    Diet?

After reading threw this thread I have realized I have very limited information about how to go about my diet. I went threw the whole nutrition class and everything and had to be on a 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery. The doctor I went to I think people mostly deal with his nurse or something because thats who I usually spoke with. Altho he was very nice it seemed like I had limited contact with him. After my surgery I asked him what I should be eating and he told me she would discuss all of that with me in detail before I was discharged and when I asked her about it she told me to eat whatever I could tolerate but to stay away from greasy foods. I looked at her totally confused expecting to be put on a liquid diet of some sort but they just said whatever I can tolderate. Does this seem odd to anyone else but me. I have been doing mostly liquids and soft foods but it seems like most people in this forum have a much stricter diet then I was given. I'm so confused at this point I will definately be calling him on Monday.
