I hope you get ur presents out on time but if not maybe let everyone know there was a delay and then get them to them later. It sucks that you may not be able to get the gifts out on time but it will be an extra gift to look forword too after all the Holidays are done. I would be really mad at that place also if I were you.

I am really disappointed, I had my upper GI for my pouch and I finally called them enough for them to give me some answers and come to find out the person who did my upper GI took bad pictures so they cannot tell if everything looks good or not. They want me to travel 400 miles to redo the test with thier people. The big problem is I cannot afford to get this done. I know we all come across hard times occassionally with band expences it just sucks you know. And the tests results for my Gal Bladder were never sent to them even though the hospital garenteed they would be at my doc office before Monday. Anyway I wanted to vent. Thx for listening.

Wow applesauce thats a real suprise. I have only really had any trouble with tortillas and really dry chicken. I stay away from soda totally and drinks with calories in it. But I can eat mostly anything else if I wanted.

That sucks that happened I couldnt even imagine going through that I would be really scared. Im glad you seem to be ok now but that has to be a little tramatic especially if you ever have to have anything done again.

My stomach hangs every which way. I cant afford a tummy tuck so I will have to live with it everything else is a bit droopy especially my boobs. I wish we had a gym in my town so I could do more weight training type exercises. but I look better than before so thats ok.

Holy cow 6 pieces of pizza and I thought I was eating too much when I just ate the topping off of 2 pieces of pizza. I would be a little worried if I were you that you may be stretched out or slipped. I would definately go get checked, I have read that some people can slip or be stretched and have no Big symptoms. I hope everything is ok with your band and GL.

I had an upper GI to see if my pouch was the right size AND an gal bladder ultrasound because the doctors have suspected a Gal Bladder issue and its been quite some time and I have left them messages and they are not calling me back to tell me if everything is fine or not. I have had a fever for over a week now IDK whats up with these people but shouldnt they be returning my calls to lemme know whats up. Especially with my Gal bladder because I have had such symptoms. Any advice how I can find out whats up? Or should I not worry about it because no news is good news? The big thing is I have had a temp for so long maybe I should go to a regular doctor and they can get them to talk.

You know your right about the origional post I think I was just a little disappointed in the responces. Not really offended just disappointed about the way people feel. But they have every right to feel how they do. Lately it just seems like I have been reading alot about how people dont like when people ask this or that and some people just honestly dont have a good support system or good doctors. I know some people ask questions and they already know the answers to them but whats wrong with some reassurance sometimes. Anyway I didnt intend to make anyone feel bad and I do appriciate everyones help when I need it. Thx all.

And my mistake for not seeing the FAQ section your right I havent noticed that section I was just going along with what the rest of the people were saying about needing one. I dunno why I never noticed it. My bad.

I only have 15 more pounds to lose I think thats pretty near goal weight, And even with that I still feel the same that people can be put off by the negativity.

Oh and I do agree that maybe this forum should have a frequently asked questions section maybe for newer people that would be cool. Like whats a PB and whats sliming ect. I cant tell you how long it took me to figire out what the heck that ment. Ty for your message Den.

I know drug seeking is a huge problem everywhere but when you live in a really small town like I do the nurses and doctors are Not that busy. I used to work in the hospital I am talking about and sometime they didnt see a single person all night in the ER. Its also easier to know who the drug seekers are because you know everyone. In our hospital they no longer give demerol they only give stadol (which I dunno what the big diff is they both make u feel the same). Our clinics and hospitals have a pain management program for people who need narcs. Most people who have a regular issue can easily get the meds they need just by signing a drug contract. I have been reluctant to get on any programs like this for my Lupus because I dont want to feel like I am relying on drugs all the time for my pain I just try to deal with it. I dont think ALL nurses and docs make these judgements about people but many of them do. I suppose its hard not to form an opinion when you see the same people come in night after night. Its really sad for the people who have real problems and need help. There was this one girl in my town who had real problems she had a mental disorder and once she jumped out of a car and another time she shot herself in the foot and the nurses just complained that she did it for the narcs. I think she just REALLY needed mental heath help but she had been there so much thats how they treated her. I have even heard one of the docs say that they always put a stomach tube in the drunks just so they have to suffer a bit. Seems like working in that enviornment can make people a bit bitter.

I have to say I am suprised at some of the attitudes people have about newer people on the boards. As for myself I did not hear about or find this website until after my surgery. And it is my only form of a support group because I live in a really small town (less than 4k people) and we do not have any type of support groups. When I went to my pre-op nutritionist I had to see her for a few months and she spent the whole time teaching me how to eat without a band not with a band and she was 100miles away. I only got to see my surg. twice about the band and he never discussed HOW to eat with me (he is 400miles away). My primary care doctor is who recommended being banded to me and mine did go rather quickly so I didnt have a ton of time to research but I did what I could on the computer. I think its comforting when someone has been through something your going threw and they can talk to you about it or answer ur questions. I am not super nifty on the computer so I only recently found out how to use the search engine on this site. So if I ever bothered someone by asking duplicate questions I appologize. I dont see the harm in people asking whats a PB. If you are bothered by the question you can ignore the thread. I know I have asked a bunch of silly questions but this was a place I thought I could feel safe in asking them because for some people there is no one else to talk to. And some people do not have physicians who go over everything with them like they should. I was one of those people who had no idea what to eat the day after I came home because the surg. nurse told me I could eat anything I wanted but lay off the greasy foods. (and that was my surg nurses instructions right after surgery) How confusing is that? I think it puts people off on asking for advice when they read nasty threads or people complaining about people asking for help. This is supposed to be a support forum and if you dont want to GIVE support you dont have to be nasty about it either. Some of us banded people do not even have any family around for support or to bounce ideas off of. I can understand people being annoyed by people not wanting to eat right (as in candy and ice cream ect..) but as for the rest of the questions and concerns I dont think there is a bad post. Anyway, I hope everyone gets the support and help they need from the site.

Find out if u can crush or break the pills into small pieces thats what I have to do with certain meds it taste aweful but at least u can get some relief. I hope everything gets better for you.

I do the same thing except its with 10 pounds up and down. I actually have to use really good will power to lose those 10 pounds too. I can eat anything I want although I try not to. Thats one of the reasons I am being checked to see if I have stretched myself out or not. IDK the results yet but hopefully thats not a problem. I wonder if because ur drinking if everything u eat is getting washed down quickly and thats why u can eat more. I know not drinking with meals is really hard for some people. I used to take Topomax and my migrains did go away but I was having amnesia with it and alot of short term memory loss also. I would forget things that happened in my life long ago and conversations with people. My arms would also suddenly have a tingling senstation in them like they were going numb my feet would do it occassionally also. Oh and the worst part was how tierd I felt and not to mention when some people start the drug like me it feels like u have the flu for 2 weeks as ur body gets used to it. I had nausea, diareha, and just plain felt sick. And if u dont take it for a few weeks u have to go through starting it all over again and be sick for two more weeks. The best part about Topomax aside from migrains going away is that your taste buds get affected and food doesnt taste as good. I took it before I was banded and Soda taste like copper so I quit drinking it and other foods tasted strange also. I would always lose weight on that drug.

I get alot of migrains I used to take 800mg of Motrin when I felt them coming on and I could sometimes stop them that way but now I cant take the motrin and have to go into the ER for shots. They usually give me Stadol and Phenergen. I am not sure whats worse at times the migrain or the effects the Stadol has on me the next day. It turns me into a royal (u know what).

I drank a really large water and now my stomach is all puffed out because its so full. I never asked my doctors if it was possible too drink too much at one time. Does it just run right through to the bottom part of your stomach? I wonder if thats the section thats stuffed with fluid. Can u stretch anything out from fluids?

My docotr has NEVER done a fill under Fluro and thats prolly why I have problems lol.

My doctors told me it was fine if i threw up when I was sick. They just dont want you throwing up excessively. I called about that also when I had the flu and thats what they told me.

I ended up having to go in because my knee hurt too bad. I got one of the new doctors in town and he was actually nice. I ended up needing 6 stitches and he said if i had not gotton it stitched I could have gotton a really bad infection because there was a big pocket under there so I am glad I made the choice to go in. I just dont think nurses in ER's should try and perswaid (excuse my spelling) people from seeking treatment when its needed. Anyway just a small update

Thats funny u mentioned growing because Dr Oz. on Oprah said that for every 30 pounds a man loses they gain 1 inch of penis size. That has got to be some kind of insperation for the men lol. As for me I am weird I guess because I just dont want much of anything to do with sex. It was that way before surgery and its that way now. I have absolutely no sex drive at all I feel bad for my hubby lol

I have been having some of these symptoms for a while now and after I had my upper GI I they told me they thought my symptoms sounded like Gal bladder and ofcourse an upper GI couldnt help that. Meanwhile a migrain started to brew which I get from time to time but this one started only on the right side of my head. Eventually it got to where I couldnt stand it anymore. I can handle the pain on my shoulder blade and down my arms but I dont do well it up my neck and in my head. So I told my hubby I was going to go get something for the pain from the doctors and he was fine with that. They gave me some narcs and whatever for pain and I also had a fever. They also said we think its your Gal Bladder. So they schedualed me an ultra sound. I called my hubby to let him know and he got pissed off. Hes so mad at me because I just had an upper GI. I tried to explain that this was different but he just told me to get my shit and get home. So I had to call one of my girlfriends to come pick me up. Anyway my hubby is still mad at me and I feel like I am going to have to just shut up about the pain and deal with it because he says I am not aloud to have the ultra sound. So I guess I will just have to wait and see if this really is my Gal Bladder by riding it out. I just dont understand my husband somedays. My Symtoms are: Occassional pain in Gal Bladder area but not always Alot of pain in my shouldblade and back area and back it can come and go Alot of pain shooting down my arm can come and go also My throat feels like its swelling shut (My theory on that is gas is getting stuck and putting pressure there because I been burping alot) Low Grade Fever that comes and goes also as far as I can tell. My poo looks weird Right now I feel ok just a slight burning in the shoulderblade area. But honestly I just dont know what to do about this whole thing. My husband can get mean some days. People go a long time with having Gal Bladder issues so maybe I can wait until the end of the year. my husband needs a surgery also that hes been holding off and until January when we can afford it so I think he thinks I am interferring with him and thats why hes mad. IDK input would be great thx.

I had my upper GI today several things happened. The Doctor who did the upper GI said my stomach didnt look overly large whatever that means and it didnt look like anything slipped. But when I talked to my lap band nurse she said regular doctors and band doctors have different ideas on what the size of the stomach should be and what a slip looks like. So innitally I thought I was in the clear but now I guess I am not. I will keep u posted on that later. The other thing that they said was that the symptoms I am having with the pain on the right side ect and even the feeling of swelling in my throat seemed to indicate a Gal Bladder problem. So I wonder how long I can go without seeing the doctor for that. Money is a issue. So I guess I will just have to wait until I cant stand it anymore or I can afford it. Will let u know more later
