My doc told me to drink 2 oz. of water every 15 minutes. It's taking me about 3/4 sips to drink the 2oz. ,therefore, I think I am sipping correctly! ?? Hard call.

Getting used to losing - permanently
PigsRFlying replied to homew6kids's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dialit has a really good point. Peace of Mind. WoW! I haven't had that in about 30 year of my 35! I can remember worrying about weight as young as 5/6. So, I am wanting the euphoria and the peace of mind. I want the high that comes with being a person with a good Self Esteem and not giving a D@#$ what others think! I want to know that I am the best I can be, my weight has always put a big glitch in the way I see myself. Thats the euphoria I am shooting for! Peace Of Mind is the not having to battle with the ups and downs of weight loss/gain. Not having to battle with food.....oh, oh, I want one more bite! For me, you see, it is a mixture of both euphoria and peace. A euphoric peace! -

Post-surgery with minimal weight loss
PigsRFlying replied to kreich's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Kreich--I am very similar in a few ways: A)I lost 13 pounds before surgery B)I had surgery 5 days ago and maybe ,maybe, have lost 2 pounds! C)Frustration kicked in today. D)I've seen on here so many others that lost 13 pounds in 13 days, 19.5 in two weeks, etc. it makes me think what did I do wrong? -

I have found that sticking with the Low Carb Slim Fast has been my best option! quick and convenient too! It has 20 g of Protein and 4 carbs! Only that two pounds has moved and it is frustrating me!!! -

Hey guys! I was banded on the 7th and I get burpy very easily. How is the burping going with you guys? Also, lower back pain has plagued me! Anyone have either of these going on? I keep telling myself that it is probably gas still left in me????

I am right there with you Alexandra! I was hooked on swimming but now I am a week out of surg. so it will be a little while until I get back in. Laps never appealed to me either. However, I read this book and the girl was ashamed of how much she weighed and went swimming every night so noone would see her and the weight started to melt off. She would go back and forth ,back and forth... Anyways, thats how I got on my kick and get wait to make it back! The book is quite entertaining, Night Swimming , is the name of it!

Shortie Porties--Banders that are short!
PigsRFlying replied to PigsRFlying's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, 3/4 sleeves are perfect! Also, I loved whenever the capri came back!! Many of the large waisted capris will come to my ankle , therefore, I am able to wear them to school. I will be so glad that the clothes that are made for short people will fit again!! It seems like we always have to lose twice as much as taller people before anyone can tell there is a difference! lol -

Talented people are on here!! -
Since we are all newbies, I figured a place to talk how much we lose and problems we are having would be good. I am crazy ecstatic to see that I have lost 2 pounds since surg. on Tues. Yay!:clap2:

Feeling pretty good! Alot better than I thought I would! Gas is the worst but stay on your feet as much as you can! Sleep on the heating pad for the gas too! Sutures weren't as bad as the gas!

Denise- You are in a hard situation. It is hard to take care of elderly parents. My mother has to do that for two elderly parents. As far as I am concerned, the people that do it, do it well, and are truly saints. JC--Thinking about you all morning. Let us know. LeO--I am so jealous of you moving to NYC. I have always wanted to live there even if just for a brief time. There is NO other city quite the same. Live it up woman! Might not be the time to have a boyfriend!! lol Derb-Whats going on with you? Me--I had to get on here and tell you guys. That I gained three pounds of gas with the surg. However, since Tues. I have lost that gas weight plus two of my own pounds! So, I am on my way the first two pounds adiosed! yay! -
Any August folks out there? I'm Scheduled for August 10.
PigsRFlying replied to JudiM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Peeps! I am so excited!! You know, after you have surg. you gain a few pounds of gassy gas. Well, today is the first day that I have lost that gas weight plus two more of my own pounds!! So excited, just wanted to share my first two with you guys! -
Ola! h-fan-- Make sure that you get the Slim Fast Low Carb. The regular and Optima are loaded with sugar. The low carb has 4 carbs, of which one is sugar, and 20g's of Protein. Also, the Optima and regular only have 10 g's of protein. Another few ideas on clear liquid-- juice out of canned veggies cook ramen noodles, strain them, and eat the liquid Hope this might help!

LeO-I love your wrist idea. Absolutely, love it! I might have to copy that one. I have three tatts. Before you get one, know that they are addicting and make sure they mean something to you. Which of course that one does!! So happy for you, take everything easy. JC--Chicken Tortilla Soup from Boston Market blended to heck is really yummy too! How tall are all of you? I'm wondering how my heigth , or lack of it, will play into this whole thing. I am exacto 5 feeto! -
Psych Eval...WAY too long, WAY WAY too long
PigsRFlying replied to MMS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Indeed, going to try to switch that addiction to something positive. Before the surgery I was totally enjoying swimming then sauna-ing at the health club. I think this is looking good BUTwhat to do while watching TV.....knitting/crocheting ...heck I don't know! -

OK--I am here to tell you that the heating pad does absolute wonders for the gas pain. This morning, my sore throat is gone (from the breathing tube), gas pain is relieving itself (gas x, Milk Of Mag because I don't think this is a great time to become const. which I am a lot), and tummy is sore. Tummy soreness=not painful like cramps just like what it is cuts and just sore. I have had cramps that have made me cry before and Iam not crying with these so I think it is a doable pain. Like, it is totally going to be worth what we are doing this for =)

Judi--2 days chicka!!

Band--Hang in there! You sound like you are doing very good on the liquids.

How long does everyone have to be on liquids after their surg? Me =2 wks.
-
