It's been about 3 weeks since I had lap band surgery (9/4/09). Since the pre-op class that I had about a week prior to surgery, I've lost about 24 lbs. So that's 24lbs in about a month. That sounds like a lot to me. But, when you consider the pre-op diet (low carb, low sugar, high protein), 5 days off just clear liquids surrounded by the day of surgery, and then the post-op diet... 24lbs in such a short amount of time makes sense.I just had my first adjust 3 days ago. I'm pretty much eating normal food again. I think the portions that I'm eating are more now than they will be in the future. My band was put in with no saline. And, after my first adjustment I still am not feeling very much constriction. By that, I mean I'm not feeling full all that quickly. So, I'm just going to be patient. I think my doctor is taking the gradual approach and I can appreciate that.
