Have a ? hoping you all have some input for me. Ok banded last Noveber, got 4th fill 3 of this month. Heres the problem, pretty much everything gets stuck, cept those lovely protein drinks & squishy foods, oatmeal, yogurt. I do eat my protein when im spose too and drink my crystal light, but, my tummy still growls just after i eat anything, had some scrambled eggs this morning, but its like i didnt eat anything. Help Please! Thanks!

Today I got my first fill after 5 weeks post-op (going on vacation next week) I have Realize band, which holds 11 ccs. Nurse put 4cc's in. Well, haven't noticed much of any restraint, im doing the liquids til tomorrow. Should I still be feeling like its not even filled? Im still hungry after my 4 oz's?? Was thinking and hoping it wud kick in right away. I could be rushing it a bit I spose. :thumbup: Thanks!

Thanks for responses, glad to know Im not the only one going thru this. Well do notice a small bit of restriction when I take my meds, takes forever to get them down, cut into small pieces. Then stuffed after I take them. Was thinking last night maybe they didn't put anything in me,but have pain in port area n red spot where poked with needle. H ave been told it takes few days for it to take ahold. Hope it kicks in soon. I am sticking to it by willpower, and eating with a baby spoon.

I'm starving all the time too. Endless seems like. was banded Nov. 6, two more weeks get my first fill. You all prob know this already, but drinking Crystal Light helps me feel full when im so darn hungry I don't dare eat anything other than what they've told me. And make instant pudding, put 2Tlbsp of protein powder in it, makes it thicker. Everybody keeps telling me, more protien when u get hungry. I chew Trident sugarless gum too, helps for wanting to chew sumthing. According to my sil's scale I've lost 15 lbs., People say they can see the weight loss in my face...whoo hoo!! I walk a mile every other day. Sounds good to me, will know the real deal when go in for my fill. Best of Luck to you all! :thumbup:

Hi everybody! Wuda been here sooner, get lost in all these forums! Terrible fibro aches today! went on a 2 mile walk..spose that cud be why. Hurt before I went, now hips n knees are in severe pain. Took some Tylenol, nothing workin yet. I was banded 11/6/09. Have lost some weight, not sure what don't have a scale n don't get first fill til Dec 7th.

Hi everybody! I will be getting my first fill in 2 weeks, then I would like to join the group of Nov. Banders!? Will get all my stats then. I've been walkin alot, on mushies. But my tummy gurgles afterwards, after i've had my protein shake...can anyone tell me what i should do, or whats going on? DO i need more protein? Thx :ohmy:

Thanks for ur concern Apples & Phyllser. Nothing broken just lots bruises and sore hip n back. No I don't have a scale, yet. Will get one someday. PS. Apples, I've had that perfume too...love it!! Indigo, I know it didn't come on overnight, and Im not expecting it to leave overnight. I was just asking, wondering what to expect. Some ppl say they loose alot when just banded b4 a fill, others don't. Just curious as to what different ppl go thru. I do write down what I eat everyday & how much.

hi everybody, need some encouragement here. I fell down 3 steps yesterday slipped on ice..got some major ouchies. Have been going for my walks, but limping cuz everything hurts. Don't feel like im loosin anything at all. Am stickin to it like glue, would like my first fill now, not at 5th week. (getting it a week early, going on vacation after that.) I am on the mushies, drink lotsa water & crystal light..which does good in filling me up. Hoping and praying first fill will do what its spose too. :confused:

I have the little card too. I have a Medical Alert keyring on my backpack that has my info on it since i have other serious health issues. What wouldnt fit I put on it...INFO on ICE of Cell phone. I got mine on ebay, need to get a new one and add the lapband to it. There all different prices on ebay.

Needing some advice/help/info here. I was banded Nov 6th. Can't get first fill until Dec. 7th. Ok heres the problem..first couple days was doing great..no hunger at all, then later towards end of week...im starving for anything n everything. Went back for post op checkup..doing good lost 6lbs. and learnd all about mushies. Been sticking to the mushie diet, but feel as though im still starved. Will it get better after I get first fill in Dec. Feel like when I go back to get it, I will weigh more than when started. :biggrin: TIA

Have a question. Is it normal to be hungry after having a protein shake? Is this normal before your first fill? I have them every 4 hrs like I should, well sometimes its Isopure., or broth or jello, But feel like I could eat much more. The first few days I was totally stuffed after my 2 oz. Not anymore. Ok scratch that first fill...was a bit over excited..no its 6 weeks away. Its a checkup post op. I'll get it right one of these days!

Hi everyone! I was banded Friday! Can only get down couple oz. Food just looks disgusting now, I have to cook for my 8 yr old son., doesn't bother me like I thought it would. In pain, but that's what pain pills for. I'll take being in pain to be skinny anyday!:w00t: Where do u all get those counter/ticker things?

I've been Banded!!! Overnite in hospital, wee bit sore today, but glad to be home. See you next Wed. Gt2bthin, Nutriton class from 2-4? I get my first fill on Wednesday, met Amanda other day.

I was banded yesterday!! Overnight in hosp cuz my oxygen saturation rates dropped to 50! This is because I have lung disease too. Sore today, but not nearly as yesterday:cool:

Hi everyone, My surgery is Friday at Noon!!!!!! GO in 2moro for my pre-op @ 9:30, then hafta hang round til 1, for appt w/snyder i guess. What am I gonna do until then? Hopeing they can get me in earlier, gonna ask anyway. Been slurpin down my liquids. :drool:

Went for that walk yesterday, whew, was hot out there. Son & I had a snowball fight, he won. Yes, I got the childcare issue taken care of, friends I met at church on Easter will take care of him!! G2BThin, well i probably met ya then, but met so many ppl while getting everything done, its hard to remember everybody! Maybe it was you there when i 1st went to the Nutrition class, showing slides of ppl who have had the surgery. I go to Thornton quite a bit., my brother & his family live there, altho don't usually hear or see them very often. Still waiting to hear from friends if they can watch my son for Friday. He doesn't have school that day, so wud be a good time for me. He got up at 6am today..hes still on October time! & I'm ready for a nap. Looks to be nice today, prob go for my usual walk around Adams County Park pond., not sure if thats what its called er not, its where the fairgrounds are.

Hey Great2bethin! Well Dolly called me Friday am said they can do my surgery on the 6th...But, gotta find someone to watch my son, he's 8. Have called couple friends, havent heard from either one of them. Told Dolly wud let her know Monday am. Would love to have it done then, if not them will hafta wait til the 13th. Am sooo tired, walked all over neighborhood Trick or treating, got 2 buckets of candy & didn't have one single piece! Not banded yet, guess cud have one, but then feel like wud be cheating, then think better have it while i can LOL!! Lost my walking meter somwhere in the dark, was a lota steps there. I've had the first nutrition class with Kim back in July I think, then Teri had called and said i was to go to another one, but she thought already had lapband done in Sept when was spose to but it had to be cancelled. Im the one with the o2 tank in backpack if you see me wandering around Rose...that is so easy to get lost in., well for me anyway. Hope to meet you sometime :Yawn:
