    I got a fill today. I had 1cc last fill and Dr. Hamn could only pull out 0.5cc today. He said that happens. He put 0.5cc in so my total is 1.5cc. I was so suprised, unhappy, embarrassed that I had not lost any weight!! His scale is 7-8 pounds heavier than my home scale- its relative to what you weigh on I guess. His scale said 198 shoes and clothes on, mine said 191-190 naked. Buckle down and work harder! Eat less and exercise more. I probably need to log calories and exercise on fit day!! He suggested eat veggie, salad, meat in that order. Go around the plate eating that way. Will make protein go down easier. chew chew chew!!

    I got a fill. The surgeon could only get 0.5cc of the 1.0cc fill from lst time back out. So he put 0.5cc in. He said mysteriously that happens. He now considers by total at 1.5cc. I thinking it would be one? What is the general thought when this happens? I had not lost any weight according to his scale!! :girl_hug: :embarassed: comeon sweet spot!! So now Im on thick liquids for 48 hours then ease into soft and regular. Time to get busier!!

    Is it bad to eat food and spit it out?

    The first month after surgery when I wanted to chew so badly- chewed pizza and spit it out. :girl_hug: Now I laugh that I did it! I just take a bite now so I dont feel deprived and move on. With the amount of chewing required for the band- not much tastes great chewed that much!!

    Carb Haters

    Im in! Refined carbs are out for me. I have increased hunger when I eat processed foods. The eating plan for the band is protein first, veggies, carbs if room. I just need to stay in the first two food groups. Babygotback-I agree South Beach is one of the more balanced plans, I also like carb addicts. Complex carb and protein 2 0f 3 meals then, one time per day you can have equal part meat, veggie and carb.

    I was feeling down about only loosing 4# in dec challenge with the sept bandsters. However- Lets look at the positive: I did not gain over christmas, never have I lost between Oct and Dec ever! I am going to have a fill next week. I have mixed emotions since I either do 100% fine or get stuck in the first 4 bites, slime and occassionally PB. I am going to only request .2-.3cc and then buckle down on my intake and increase my exercise.

    Ok so I missed the actual goals- 25# and optional exercise 3x/wk? Im in! My starting weight is 190, with a fill scheduled tomorrow- hopefully it will help! Im excited to do this!

    Battle scars

    I would use Hiatal hernia as the excuse since as you lose weight you may still have to have your gallbladder removed. Of course you could also use exploratory lap surgery for abd pain. AVOID SOMETHING THAT COULD STILL HAPPEN. Good luck!

    I feel my port sticking out

    I can see mine and feel it. It is on my left side almost exactly on the side of my body. It does ride up under my ribs sometimes. I have to lay on my right side for a fill since it is so lateral.

    I have no problem eating popcorn. And I enjoy having it as a change in the everyday.

    Biggest protein bang for the buck

    Im not sure engineered sources are the way to go- supplement fine but for total nutrition? Vary your diet and your hair loss will slow down. I stopped the shakes and resorted to a more varied diet and my hair loss has almost stopped! I stir the any whey unflavored into my drinks(hot tea, sugar free hot chocolate etc...) in between meals and dont worry about my diet. This is for the long haul and shakes are not something I plan to do forever.

    New Whey Liquid Protein or protein bullets?

    I prefer them slightly frozen. Otherwise I agree they taste like slimy warm not set up jello. My favorite is the tastless protein from bariatric eating.com. You can stir in in tea, sugarfree hot choc, milk, any liquid and most solids.

    WALKING!!! then i found the gas chewables and heating pad to help. IN that order. Good Luck!

    Hyopthyroidism....LapBand questions....

    I have hypothyroid- my endo says she has more normal weight than overweight hypothyroids and that is NOT the reason Im overweight. I disagree with her so.... onward I go and had the surgery. My band has helped me stay in control of binging. It limits how much I can over eat. I have not been the fast looser and that I think may be thyroid related also. Can not tell that Im banded. Feel completely normal!!! Would do it again!!

    Having trouble keeping anything down HELP!

    I am a novice but it sounds like you have too much fill. You need to talk to the surgeon and see about taking some out. I have 1cc in and I can eat or drink just about anything- except soft bread, and dry meats!

    salads?

    I can eat salads with out any trouble- problem is its not protein. If I get chicken or tuna I try to focus on it first and eat some salad as I go.

    Addiction Recovery

    Puddin- You look GREAT- like a totally different person!! I can relate to your addictive behavior- would like for mine to be sex- my husband opposes!! How dare he- sure makes oogling guys fun!! I look at them and think the same. However my addiction has been food and shopping. We all have an addiction to break- If I were single it would be sex!!

    Besides a halt in weight loss, How do you know you need a fill? I have always been able to eat an entire WW or Lean cuisine frozen meal, I do get stuck on meats occassionally and it usually ends with a pb in less than 5 minutes. Im terrified to get a fill- I fear putting my band at risk for slippage. Is that a misconception that with fills the band is at risk for slippage especially if you get stuck or pb? Suggestions are appreciated!!

    Meat??

    I can so relate!! For me: Turkey is out too dry, Pork is out, chicken if it is moist is ok, beef is usually ok, lobster has been easy, shrimp is also ok, fish depending on the moisture level is ok. I too tend to eat the non protein just to get something down. Eating is such a hassle!! Protein drinks are my lifesaver. I dont have the forever pain it passes with or without a pb in less than 5 minutes. I will watch curiously as to what suggestions you receive.
