I am also a "slow loser" but if you look at it you lost 4#per month- THE healthy way- SLOW!! Just think you didnt gain- you lost!!! Your band did exactly what it was suppose to do!! 1-2pounds per week. I cant speak for you- but I CANT lose that without my band. In my case my dietary habits were not that bad- the portions were too large but I made healthy food choices MOST of the time- I think that plays a HUGE role in the speed of loss. IF you ate crap , put on your weight then couldnt eat any junk the weight probably is going to fall off of you- Dont know but thats the only explanation/rationale I can come up with for not losing as fast as everyone else!! HANG IN THERE!!! Its coming off not going on!!!

Does anyone else hate Ticker Factory?!?!?!
gonnabethin replied to derbygirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here is a quick howto for those of us that are unfamiliar with posting a ticker... 1. Go to http://www.tickerfactory.com Select "Weight Loss Tickers" 2. Then select your ruler. At the bottom of the page there are links to additional ruler designs. Click the radio button beside the the ruler you want and click Next 3. Now select your slider. Same as the ruler, there are additional slider designs linked at the bottom of the page. Click the radio button beside the slider you want and click Next 4. Enter in a PIN number where indicated and then enter your start weight, current weight and goal weight. Optionally you can also enter in your height for a BMI tracker. Click Next 5. Your ticker is complete! Now scroll down to the box labelled bbCode, Select all the text, right click and select COPY. 6. Come back to Lapbandtalk.com, go to the top left hand corner of the page below the LapBandTalk logo select "User CP" 7. On the left hand side of the page below Control Panel/Settings & Options select "Edit Signature" 8. In the middle of the page under "Edit Signature" Click inside the text box, then right click and select PASTE. 9. Then select "Save Signature" this will save the ticker to the signature of every message posted. __________________ St. Patty's Day Weightloss and Exercise challange! -

Had worst ever PB!! six of us at resturant, Pork again! Ribs this time. emesis x4 over an hour at the resturant- 3 of those in the bushes at the front:eek: No one saw me/that i saw thankfully. Papaya enzyme saved me and a small glass of warm water once I got home. I now keep those tabs in my purse. I stayed liquid for 2 days. Tried edamame and raw cabbage salad today and a few bites of beef stew- NO! Stuck and PB at work! Alone thankfully. currently am waiting for my papaya enzyeme and warm tea to help- Im in misery! Im ready to give up eating!! Im under emense stress-(PR, daily with those people, recep gone and my schedule is a wreck 26-30perday.) I am going to have to learn to CHEW CHEW CHEW!! Possibly I need to learn to start with tea first then try eating.

gonnabethin replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

I felt nothing with my first fill, nothing with my second fill until 2 weeks out then BAMM! I have restriction. Not that I have a full sensation- but IF I Dont chew- its coming back up! I am now able to control my portions and do my part. I dont want to push how tight I am I dont want a slip. As long as Im not starving- my fill level is good!

How interesting that the skinny people would rather loose a year of their life, walk away from their marriage, forgo happy life or loose a limb than be fat!! An why are they so mean to the fatties?!

Fired Endocrinologist last wed. She was a total bitch to me and told me I was fooling myself. When I told her I had the band and not losing as fast as I feel I should and asked if she was open to med changes- she said I told you it wouldnt work. She told me didnt matter lo carb or not cal=cal. Then criticized my exercise time of day and lack of low enough carbs. Told her you just said cal=cal doesnt matter or does it? Well bitch I didnt tell you I was getting a band until just now so piss off. BGF changed my thryroid meds to synthroid and cytomel, back on low carb, stopped effexor 1month or so. lost 3ish pounds this week so Ill take it!!

FOR me the slimming preceeds PB. The body produces salvia in response to a noxious stimuli- stuck- for me. I have only once slimmed and NOT Pb'd. If I slime thats it I will pb.

Anyone hear from april?- she did not leave us I hope! For support when I can -I eat lunch in my office and read LBT- great for slowing down remembering WHY I did this!! My weight loss should pick up now that Im back on South Beach way of eating. I think the sugar was sabotaging my efforts! Im much less hungry now and seem to be having better relations with my band.

getting pressured to do bypass over band!
gonnabethin replied to skatkat's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In our house we have BOTH! I have the band and my DH has the RNY( 7/01). Neither of us have had complications He has had his longer- better results thus far. Im sure since he doesnt absorb everything.- and no he has NO malnutrition! His labs are perfect. He has NOT had any of the BIG BAD RNY longterm complications AND IT CAN BE REVERSED- why does every one think it cant? All of his parts are there just not connected the same. NO it wont be a "simple 1 hr deal". There are some people who WOULD NOT make good bandsters and he is DEFINITELY one of them. Secretly- I envy the permenant-ness of his RNY when I hear of people who have erosion or slippage with their bands. I just PRAY daily I dont become a complication statistic! If your wondering why I chose the band when Ive seen such good success with RNY- I did not have high enough BMI - nor did I want to wait for it to get there. Thus far my band and I are happy. I test; it pushes back. -
Biggest mistake you've made SINCE banding?
gonnabethin replied to mypov's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me 1. Eating too fast when Im very hungry 2. Thinking I could do this without giving up sugar- I have to stay away completely to lose weight. Sweets go thru way too easy and leave me empty and wanting more! -
Mine would repair hernia and band but NOT gallbladder and band since gallbladder is viewed as dirty.

Women with polycystic ovarian syndrome ...
gonnabethin replied to Candle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I feel like its a new discovery- I looked up PCOS- I have it- MILD but i have it!! Why the OB/GYN, Endocrinologist has never diagnosed it Im not sure. I have had 20 childless years- blamed on hypothyroid. I guess since I do not have all the symptoms? I had the irregular menses, have MILD facial fuzz, migranes, infertility, mid-body weight loss, ovarian cysts, acne- dx rocesea, anxiety. So that explains why I have the band and am having a TOUGH time loosing weight!!!!! So now what? How do I get this weight off?!! -
Laser hair removel. Has anyone had it???
gonnabethin replied to ladysplenda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have light, reddish bonde hair and it didnt work well. I had 8 treatments (underarm) that IS dark and coarse- I thought. Hurt like hell. Thinned the hair but its still there and for what it costs- I think it could be better. Thats the draw back works best on thick coarse dark hair- no fine, lighter hair. Did not work at all for those 3-4 light coarse hairs on my chin!! -

My hair loss has increased. Kinda scarey BUT I will take it. I will no longer complain at losing slow.... I do not have a slipped band like one of the sept bandsters has already experienced. I will go slow, do a great job and be appreciative that my band and I are getting along!! Thankful every day that my band is here!!
-
WOW!! Thats great you feel so good. so fast. Yep- move on- if he couldn't see the inside you it will NEVER matter what the outside you looks like!! Cut and paste this to the bikini pic you send him!!:heh:
-
You took tylenol- It may have been the size. It is one of the allowed drugs for bandsters per my surgeon. Aspirin and Tylenol are not the same. Glad your feeling better.
