I know what you mean!! I had the worst between my shoulders pain Friday night after having the allowed grits. Unfortunately IHOP put enough butter on them they tasted GREAT- HOWEVER I paid dearly a few hours later. I think it was a gallbladder attack or my stomach revolting after 3 weeks of liquid low fat bland- to WTF!! I back on liquid to mushie and watching my fat intake!! I did not throw up or PB, not even nauseated but the pain between my shoulders and the golfball feel in my chest was horrific. The other item I cannot tolerate is SF Orange sherbert- had the same pain and abdominal discomfort!! Just those two episodes gave me new respect for what could happen. I did not detour from my allowed other than the one episode of butter! It sure makes it easier to avoid those foods.

Sorry- thats not how life works. Be it herbal, pharmaceutical, food or alcohol there are consequences!!! We are humans and the human body is not built for that level of abuse. There will be natural consequences regardless of the indulgence. I agree with paladin- very sad state of thinking when people feel they deserve to party without consequences - death being the most severe! There are no gurantees in life. Test your limits and you will find them!!!

I cant imagine a situation that you would need an emergency unfill. If the situation presented I seriously doubt you would be able to actually do it. Im thinking in that event you are not concious or not physically able. In that unlikely event you need an unfill emergent or not I would drive the 2-3 hours to a Metropolitan area and let someone with experience do it for you. Its nice that you have the needles in the case there was some confusion. I am qualified and I would not do my own fill or unfill. The potential harm to the band and or tubing risking leakage if you missed is not worth it. Besides the fact you need to numb yourself first, and not overshoot how deep you stick. I just look at it as I paid way too much money to muck with it myself. Nor to allow an inexperienced person to touch it!! Plus I dont want to start over with the 5 weeks of liquid to puree!!! Good Luck!! Hope you never have to use them.

I know from experience- YOU WILL SURVIVE!!! Right now this is the most emotional thing you have done. When you are in self doubt, think of all they years of emotional abuse and that YOU DO deserve better (you'll be so pissed you'll forget to cry!) I do understand the grieving for the loss of the perfect marriage. Your children will move on. Your son will in time realize your divorce is and was in the best interest of all involved. Family happiness as a unit will increase, your son is just grieving the teenage male style. Get him some counseling to assist the process. I look back and tell my mom who divorced after 27 yrs that was stupid to stay because of us- the kids. I realized for her and our family it was better and I did not repeat her mistake!! In my case his infidelity, laziness and lack of motivation to change ultimately sacrificed the marriage. The kids do in time see with their own eyes!! Keep on the right path and off the verbal battering road- the kids will see the behavior for what it is. I do not believe that all marriages are meant to last. You change/grow over time and if your spouse doesn't change and grow with you as a couple or in your case uses you as his verbal and emotional punching bag to boost his ego- raise your glass to him and say carry on but do it without me!!! Hooray for your courage and hang in there- It gets better!!! The liberation to a better life is sooo wonderful!!!:clap2: :clap2:

So desperate- and soooo not worth it. We went to movies, popcorn smelled wonderful- soaked a few pieces in my mouth the took it out- did not swallow popcorn since im still on liquids. Sooo salty. After the movie we went to IHOP. Had one egg over easy and grits- Both allowed. Grits were wonderful buttery and smooth. Holy shit!!! From 0400 to 0800 had horrific pain between my shoulder blades, nausea, pain- Im sure it was my gallbladder. After 2 weeks on liquids it said no no no to any fat!!! NOT AGAIN FOR A WHILE!!

I never understood when discussing tasting every bite. We had a discussion thin behaviorist telling us you dont taste every bite, you just subconciously eat. I NOW understand!! I can tell you I TASTE EVERY BITE now!! It amazes me I how fast I did eat and still do If I dont pay attention!! Im sure my first fill will remind me to SLOW DOWN. Though I practice every meal

PS dont get "body wrap" brand it clings and makes clothes appear as though you have something under them where spanx have perfect amount of lycra- NO CLING!!
-
Spanx are wonderful!! Dont care for the bra alone its frumpy. If you get the body spanx you will love it. No bra no panties required. The only mistake I made was I bought mine too big. Its like a compression body suit. Love it!! The thigh high hose are great too!! Ok ...so your wondering how do I go to the BR. It has a crotch split perfect for voiding. If nature calls and you have to poo then I undress. Somehow the possibility of getting it on me dictates I undress!! I would not give mine away!! It is the one undergarmet I LOVE!! I use it under skirts too!! Link to the one I like. Only problem too hot in texas for summer! http://www.galapagosboutique.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=SPX%2D108 the model is wearing underwear- DONT!!

Had my two week f/u. Kinda disappointed- he doesnt call it mushies, full liquid, but I can have oatmeal, soup with crackers- "cracker paste" consistency, for 3 more weeks. After that then regular food that has been pulsed in the processor to guage bite size. Then 2 weeks after that if im not losing, chewing on my own, then fill. All my incisions are healing nicely. No pills larger than ASA. My port still tender especially with waisted pants.

Me either on potatoes or pasta. Im on liquid/soft ... sort of I can have soup with crackers softened in it, yogurt, applesauce, cottage cheese consistency of foods. Im gonna avoid crackers as they are starch and it seems like that makes me hungrier. Im allowed oatmeal and cream of wheat. I LOVE that soft cheese Laughing Cow light triangles!! Those have saved me!! Goal being that my pouch does no work for 3 more weeks. Liquids and applesauce consistency run right thru, and dont overfill the pouch. Then in 3 weeks I can have regular food that has been pulsed in the food processor so its little chunks to learn what bite size should be. After 3 weeks on that then no more food processor. If I level off , not losing a pound a week and I am on regular foods, chewing on my own and not losing then I get a fill. The light is there its just dim still. I will do this!!! He just doesnt use the term mushie but it sounds like that is what it is.

WHOOOAAAA. Dont get too excited. It will slow way down then you'll be posting that your not loosing. Remember alot of that is fluid weight. It is exciting to see the scale move. Dont weigh everyday. I lost my 10 pounds the first 5-8 days then the scale has not moved- which I expected from reading everyones posts. Good Luck and it is fun!!

Im still just 2 wks post op and have had the golfball feel on liquids- thicker ones. After reading your post I have to be drinking too fast. The warm did help!!

BOOBOO Kitty So what was it? I saw derm today and had 3 biopsies. Unfortunately it is an annual event and the risk of living in texas wirh fair hair and fair skin. Find out next week if we have to take bigger margins. As I had them removed I realized I hadnt heard about your status. Hopefully your not still in limbo. What a horrible worry for josette folliculitis vs skin cancer!! They dont even look the same.

I cant believe its been 2 weeks!! I go tomorrow for my 2 wk follow-up. Per my nutritional sheet I get to start mushies- I HOPE!! Im with Bjean and momofmany- Dont screw up what was so hard to come by. The band is a gift, one I gave to myself and I intend to make the most of it. Thats not to say I havent been HUNGRY or tempted- by the smells but if I go and get what Im allowed it passes!! I get so full by drinking a protein drink ar even having 1/4 cup plain yogurt with protein powder. September bandsters are almost done!! Good Luck !!

Poll - Democrat or Republican?

We do not have that problem- We have what is know as the Robin Hood plan. The wealthier school districts supplement the poorer districts. I am all for a flat tax!! Then it would automatically be on a level playing field. You pay 17% of 20k, 100k, or 1million. -
Very very scared Now the more i read the more i second guess myself

No denial here. There IS the chance of erosion, slippage and complications those however precentage wise these are less than stroke, heart attack, congestive heart failure if you do nothing. When you are in the process of changing your life, making the decision to get a band or bypass it doesnt help to seed your thoughts with the constant barrage of the "i wish I'd never gotten my band" threads. For the newbie, you do have to block some degree of that or you would never get a band. Complications dont happen to everyone, but they are an acknowledged risk. I dont think anyone would say they werent. I certainly wasnt, so I clarified my short post. -
My surgeon put me onn 15# limit for 6 weeks for lifting.

I had the same thoughts!! This board is a scary place. I dont regret getting banded for one second. Remember the positives are not here to the extent of the negatives. The people here are or have had problems and need support- this is a skewed sampling. Slow and easy and no gallbladder problems. The fast drop increases chances of gallbladder issues. Read ONLY the supportive and positive posts!! There are TONS who have had NO problems. Infact the majority!! -
Poll - Democrat or Republican?

I agree with you. Some of the problem is that people have moved from their extended families. They dont have people to ask and trust, they wouldnt probably even if they did. We are not in a depression yet because we still have people bringing their kids to the doctor for a fever of 101 for 4 hours!! The common sense era is gone. Alot of the parents of today have more money than sense because they come into the doctors office for EVERYTHING!! Runny nose for 12 hours, diarrhea once, cough for 2 days.. the list goes on and on!! The copays of $5 -15 encourage running in for everything. We even have a nurse line answered by our office nurses to give advice but the parents want to come in anyway! So I can see how employeers are going broke trying to insure people who use it irresponsibility. I think those individuals should have to pay based on usage. If its an emergency or really sick kid thats one thing, but our days are filled with 8 hours of nonsense. And like wise the hospitals charge more than is reasonable, the insurance companies pay what they want to when they want to. The system broke sometime in the 70-80s but Im not sure I understand why or how. -
