    Depression After Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Just a little different take on things, maybe it's the increase in artificial (chemical) sweeteners. My personal experience is Splenda(sucralose) gave me a melancholy depression when I first started using it and it escalated from there, got pretty dark and scary with no apparent reason. It took a good friend and research to figure it out; it was easy to stop though I just stopped eating/drinking/ingesting anything with Splenda and voila I was cured. Please no haters; I've tried to share this with family members and even they can't have someone coming between them and their beloved fake sweetness but they've tried five different antidepressants and none of them work. I know it doesn't affect everyone like this, some of us are just more sensitive to it than others but this could help someone who needs to hear it because depression is terrible. It's an easy test: quit using it for a couple days if you start feeling better Great; if you're like me you'll start taking it again and start falling into that terrible funk again. Best wishes to everyone, hope y'all feel better soon.

    Tricare is deflating my hopes

I called the pt advocate and was told that all the bariatric surgeons are away right now and to call back in a couple months. I'm assuming they are deployed or getting more training. I don't know if I can wait that long, if this band is really eroding I should probably get rid of it sooner rather than later. I am more than dissappointed.

    Tricare is deflating my hopes

Tiffykins thank you so much; I've called the base but only talked to the clinic. You're giving me hope at least, thank you, I'm going to dial the phone now...I'll update!

    Tricare is deflating my hopes

Robin thanks for the reply. Good luck to you with getting civilian approval for the sleeve. I understand about appointments and kids; I have an 11, nearly 3, and 1.5 yr, old believe me nobody wants to see me at an appt with them in tow. That's another reason I want to go to the base, it's 30 minutes closer than the Dr. I'll be 40 too really soon and was hoping for the revision around my birthday. I don't plan on telling anybody about the surgery and was hoping to just let them all jump to their own conclusion about me having a mid-life crisis or something. I really hope things go well for you...I'll be looking for updates.

Gallbladder out almost a year ago

Sorry you are in pain, have you ever looked at curezone.com ? I've used the Hulda Clark liver cleanse successfully, many times, to avoid gall bladder removal. Because, as you are unfortunately experiencing, even if the gall bladder is removed you still can get all the old symptoms from sludge and "stones" in the liver which is what probably caused your orignal pains. Doctors remove the gall bladder (which is just a pouch to hold excretions [bile, sludge, stones] from the liver) if it is infected and sometimes even if it isn't. If it is infected it causes pain; if it is not infected the source of pain is the blockage/congestion in the liver which is not taken care of with surgery. I'm interested to know if you took the gall bladder med Uridsidol that the docs give after weight loss surgery. In any case, I hope your pain is alleviated soon. I am new this site and posting (this is my very first post ever!) and I've read all your posts; you give such great info and insights. I hope this helps.
