I have been over weight since I was 9 years old. I am hypothyroid as well, so losing weight is not easy for me. I gave birth to a little girl 5 months ago and I finally realized that I needed to do something quick or I wasn't going to be able to play and run with her when she got older. I have several friends who have done the Lap Band and had great success with it. My insurance doesn't cover it so basically the only thing standing in the way was money. My family has been extremely blessed... my husband is making great money and doing side jobs and after much pleading, he finally agreed to the surgery! He loves to save money and letting go of that money was tough for him. He knew it was best for my health so he was all for it. I called the TLC Edge and got into see them right away. I asked for the "fast track" and was scheduled for surgery in a week. I was banded on 10/15/09 and at this point I am still recoverying. I have dropped 11 pounds and can't wait to reach my first goal which is 50 pounds!!
