I am sure that this is how many of these stories start. After many years of dieting and going up and down with my wieght and having a strong family history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.  I decided to go ahead go look into this surgery.  I figured that nothing else is working, I have a daughter to raise and be here for and I dont want her to struggle with her weight the way that I have.  I always lost weight would hit a wall and then gain it all back and then some.  So I went to my primary doctor and asked him about reffering me to a surgeon to get the lapband procedure done.  So he started me on this journey with a seminar that I needed to attend first and boy has it been a journey since then.  I have had to see a psychiatrist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, nutritionist, do a sleep study, ekg, stress test, echocardiogram and lose 15 pounds.  I have done all this and am now hoping to have my in about two weeks.  Only thing standing in the way is the surgeon accepting my insurance.  I just hope all goes well and that by sticking to the prescribed diet for the rest of my life that I will finally be healthy again.
