I get it all the time as well, I love the one "you are going to blow away" okay really??? I plan on losing 27 more pounds to be in the normal range for my height and it is the top of the range. I think people are just shocked that you are able to lose a lot of weight and seeing you smaller amazes them. But I have done this myself, I have had rail thin girls tell me they want to lose 10lbs and i am like from where so I too am quilty.

do you have a secret goal weight???
mom2girls posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do want to be healthy so I am aiming for 136lbs and that is what I tell everyone but I secretly would love to get to 126, I realize that is only 10lbs but when I tell people I want to get to 136lbs they all gasp and tell me I will blow away if I were that thin. I have even been told I look great at my size now and why do I want to still lose more weight. -

I have to admit I am also a scale whore, sad but true. My weight is usually 2-4 lbs difference. So I think it is very normal.

RED ZONE- Why do you gain weight when you are too tight!?
mom2girls replied to BonMag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told because you are taking in such low amounts of daily calories your body goes into starvation mode and what happens is whatever you take in your body trys to store to keep your body functioning. hope this may make sense it did to me. -
Anyone had the new laser technique? what is the down time? How about pain level? Are you statisfied with the results?

Okay so I go in for my 3rd fill and my doctor has been a bareratic doc for over ten years and he uses fluroscopy before and after each fill, so he does the fluroscopy and then he gives me a fill and then he does the fluroscopy again and then he tells me he only put in a quater of a cc and and when I see you next month it looks like you will hit restriction, then why did you not go ahead and add enough now!!!! Hello!! Anyhow had to vent, thanks for listening

how do your spouses feel about your choice?
mom2girls replied to dontgoggilme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husbands answer has always been to anything I am thinking of doing "do what ever makes you happy and I will support you" he of course told me I did not need it that i looked great just the way i was even tho when we met I was at 150lbs not 223lbs but after two kids and life I let myself go. He gets a little scared when he sees guys eyeing me and will ask whne I lose all my weight am I gonna leave him and I have to reassure him I am gonna be a around for awhile besides I all ready have him trained  -
I would use real butter, every once in a while will not hurt you and besides sometimes your body needs the fat.

Anyone banded around 10-14-09?
mom2girls replied to southernbelle13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/07/2009 and I lost 11lbs preop and 44lb since band. I have only 2.5cc in a 10cc band and I only had my first fill mid January so I am still hungry all the time and I have not at all reached any restriction I can eat anything with no issues (I actually fear the day I hit restriction afraid I am gonna get stuck forsure :cursing:) -
Some days are harder than others....
mom2girls posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find myself cheating about every 3 days as if I deserve the bad foods I ate before. I know it is all in my head I just needed to vent and felt if I got it down in print maybe I would also take responsibility for the binges as well. I am not going hog wild just hitting around 1600 calories on those days and it has slowed the weight lost down. -

I think you may be onto something here because I do reward myself with food, after I lose a couple of pounds I feel it is okay just one time to have those chips, etc. Thanks for the insite  -

80 grams of protein!!
mom2girls replied to Ashley0814's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not convinced that it is lack of protein for hair loss, I have read many articles where hair loss is a side effect of weightloss in general, plus I am very confident that I never got that amount of protein before I was a carbo'holic. I had to keep a food journal for three months before surgery and I gurantee that I get more protein now than I did then and I did not lose hair like I have since I started this journey. Just my take on it. Crystal -
Way to go I have been nursing my last few pounds trying to hit 169 and it is hard so congrats!
-
I completely understand, I am almost 5 months out and have hit that feeling as well. It is hard to get my mind past it. I do great for a week then back to the same feelings. My doctor did not give me a fill until 3 months out and it was just 1.5cc in a 10cc band and then a month later just 1cc so I am at 2.5cc right now and I have not had restriction or anything at all so it is hard for me to get motivated when I feel like my entire weight loss so far has been my own will power. I believe it will come back I get another fill on March 18th and I am hoping that will be the fill that puts me back on track. I am still losing but it amounts to 1/2 a week not at all what I want. I know this is not an answer but wanted to let you know that you are not alone!

Should I wait or go ahead and try it....
mom2girls posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Question for anyone who wants to answer. I have fallen off the wagon so to speak this last week and I was thinking about doing the 5 day pouch test but was unsure since I go in for my second fill this coming Wednesday the 18th. What do you all think? Thanks in advance for the answers.
