So. Um. :tt2: My guy and I are in a long distance relationship and he came to visit me for the first time ever a few days ago. For reasons we don't need to explore at this juncture, he doesn't know about the band which I got back at the end of Sept, yet. So on the last night he was here, there may or may not have been some making out. And at one point in order for him not to feel the scars on my stomach (and because I wanted him to) I may or may not have grabbed his hands and placed them on my...upper body region. I can't believe I did that! Every time I think about it I start laughing and I just need someone to laugh about it with. What about you guys? Ever done anything like that?

Lol, thank you. I didn't know I was a boob woman! Oh, I know I have to tell him and I will but I also know that right now is not the right time either. If I do, he'll think I got the band because of him which is wrong. I want to see how we do before I tell him.

I need help, advice, anything you guys can give me to combat this. I'm was banded 3.5 weeks ago and am starting regular foods and I just don't know. For example, I made myself soft scrambled eggs with tuna and even though I'd measured out half a cup, I still ate all of it even though I think I was starting to feel full. And the past 3 days have been horrible because I've been grazing, which I didn't do before the band. And I'm not even hungry most of the time. I'm just eating because I'm eating. But I'm not eating healthy or right. Half the time, I don't even know what to eat, which I'm pretty sure is leading to my grazing. To top it off, my brother and his family are visiting, so there is junk food/slider foods galore and it is not helping. I mean, I had cake today. Cake! And it wouldn't have been that bad, because I did my best to have a tiny portion, but it was a sponge cake and it got stuck. For over 3 hours. I felt sick, kind of queasy, almost wishing I would throw up and my mouth was watering. It was only after walking for an hour that I felt the pressure behind my sternum decrease. It's been a couple of hours since and it still aches. I'm afraid to drink Water because if I still have food in my pouch, I don't want to stretch it. So basically, I'm eating too much at a time, but not properly or enough. Also I'm doing my best to adhere to the no-water-for-an-hour-after-eating rule, which means with the grazing I'm hardly getting enough water. And pre-band I was drinking 1.5 L a day. I haven't taken such bad care of my body in years! The last time I did, I gained almost 40 lbs, over the course of 8 months. (Freshman 15? I wish.) It's just making me sad and really frustrated because I know I'm better than this and I have been better than this. But I can't seem to get anything under control and do what I need to do. I'm afraid of stretching my pouch, I'm afraid of getting a kidney infection (which I'm susceptible to) from not getting enough water, I'm afraid that my body is still in starvation mode because I'm not feeding it properly, I'm afraid that I'm going to ruin my opportunity and waste all of the money I spent on this surgery.

I wish my brother and his family were visiting only for the day, but they're here on vacation and have been with us since the day I got banded. :S What were you eating 4 weeks into this? I sometimes can't figure out what I should be eating. I've taken a look at the different threads but somehow I can't make it connect to me. What are a couple of meals like for you? After yesterday's cake debacle, the area behind my sternum is still aching. Even with drinking only liquids today. When you drink water/juice, do you sip over a period of time or are you able to take a few sips consecutively? Thank you for taking the time to write to me.

Did you strech the pouch or.... u need a fill?

Do you mind if I ask you about when you stretched your pouch? Do you know how long it took? I mean, was it 2 meals or was it a week of overeating? How bad was it for you? What did you have to do afterwards? When you eat half a cup, that's half a cup regardless of whether it's liquid, mushies or solids, right? Since I'm not yet a month out of being banded, I'm trying to get my Protein through shakes and have no idea if I should drink the whole cup in one meal or to split it. And if I can drink water right after drinking a shake or if I should wait an hour. Thank you for anything you're willing to share. PM me if you prefer to answer that way. -
Surgery oct 1st - gas pains are horrible
xemi replied to bethany329's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 11 days ago and I can promise you it does go away! For me, the biggest thing was not being able to burp because I could feel the gas in my stomach, pushing against the band. I found that once I ate/drank something, so my Water and broths, the gas would more easily come out. Make sure you're drinking your fluids! -
Banded 9/24, some questions about the pain and eating
xemi posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port incision hurts insanely a lot, to the point where I can't sit for more than 2 or 3 mins and I have to hold it if I'm walking around. I found that if I wrap my stomach, it helps a little, but should I be doing that? Is there anything to be done for the pain? I can feel my stitches pulling in the other cuts. When you guys were immediately post-op, how long would it take you to drink a glass of Water or any of the other liquids? I had 1/3 cup yogurt, watered down because I was so hungry this morning and now am worried that I shouldn't be eating yogurt so soon. -
Banded 9/24, some questions about the pain and eating

Thank you guys so much for your replies, they've been really helpful. *empathy fistbump* I now count 3 of us that have been banded on the same day, that's kinda awesome, in a painful way. :OP I figure since it's been a few days after the surgery I can take a sip of Water every couple of minutes, right? And not have to worry about dilating the pouch? Now that the swelling's going down the port incision isn't bothering me so much anymore, not as much as the port itself is. I can feel it almost all the time. How do y'all go to the bathroom?? Lol, seriously! As for wrapping, I'm not wrapping tightly at all, I just need a little support and my arm was getting tired from pressing my side. I swear, the only thing I'm "eating" are my antibiotics and ibprofen. I'm going to try to go grocery shopping and get some broth soups or soup flavouring to put in my broth. And popsicles! -
Banded 9/24, some questions about the pain and eating

All the doctor did was give me a sheet that stated I should be on a liquid diet for 20 days and on that it says half a cup of yogurt for lunch amongst soup and juice and Jello. The soups are also low fat milk based soups, but no chunks. And that I have to have 6-8 cups of Water during the day, which is so hard to do. Mostly all he said was I'll learn as time goes by, to chew my food a lot and not to throw up. He may have said more but I was so freaked during the consult that I don't remember, lol. My mom says he also said I should be on mushies for 2 months before attempting regular food. I knew he didn't give me much direction but wasn't aware until now just how little he did give. Momamia, would you mind sharing what instructions you were given? Thank you, Violinist, your answer also helped. I appreciate any help I can get.
