  3. You may want to start a new thread with diabetes in the title. That way you will have a better chance of getting replies. Somebody was talking about getting sugar from tubes of glucose or cake frosting yesterday.

    very BLOATED!!!!!

My muscles were all achy or day 3. The next day I woke up feeling great. I think that is the final IV fluid leaving your body.

Just had Lap Band 3 days ago

Same here and I am 9 days post-op. I have a bad habit of swallowing air to make myself belch and it just ain't working. I am farting up a storm though. :blushing: Good luck!

    Big time plateau

Great advice! Also, I don't think anyone goes from top weight to goal without a prolonged plateau or 2 in the middle. It is part of the weight loss journey. It is frustrating but I am determined that when mine hits I will grin and bear it. Good luck!!!
  7. Everything is going great. Back to work 3 days now and it is like I never had surgery. I am tempted to try and run on the tread mill but holding off so I don't tear a stitch.

    How are you doing?

  9. Broccoli is disgusting and nobody should ever eat it! Thank you for warning others of the evils of broccoli. The fact that it taste like dirty feet doesn't seem to be enough to keep them away.

Kary, you have to walk a lot. It will keep the blood moving and help get the gas out of you system.

    Biggest Loser 2010

The embedded commercials are obnoxious; sometimes funny but they work! It's usually Bob saying something like he is the only one that knows about it, then the gang looks at him with awe as if to think a collective, "Wow!" They actually got me to buy a Bodybugg and I love it. This week Bob was pushing Biggest Loser Protein 2Go mix in single serving packages and I am thinking about checking it out. Jared sold me on Subway long before TBL

Hello! I am new to the site.

I never had any actual pain. The gas was gone in less than 3 days. No indigestion at all either. What are you eating that may be causing it? I was on liquids for a week after surgery. My surgeon has me taking Pilosec for 30 days starting the night before surgery. So, I am having no problem heartburn.

    very BLOATED!!!!!

I was completely back to normal in less than 3 days. I'd call your surgeon's office just for piece of mind. It's probably fine but the phone call can't hurt.

  15. Thanks Denise. That is exactly what I was talking about and for the record, I NEVER said she didn't qualify.
  16. Don't even think about it. It's only been a couple of days. I was 4 days in between craps even before I started this. If you reach 5 or 6 days, try a laxative.
  17. There are millions of BMI calculators all over the web. Here's one: Calculate your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator

    The Great Wall

I am down 100 pounds and expecting my plateau any day now. I've convinced myself that it is coming and that it is a normal part of weight loss. I'm ok with it. In return, I am happier with every week that passes that I am still losing.

"I forgot my lunch. Whatever will I do?" "I think I saw a Subway around the corner." Hey idiot!!! You are in a food bank surrounded by food!!!

Hello! I am new to the site.

Welcome to the madhouse and great attitude! Keep it up!! I was banded 2 days before you. So, we'll pretty much be experiencing this new life together.
  22. CC, there is nothing to be nervous about. They ask you to take a deep breath and the next thing you know you are lying in the recovery room. Gloria and IL, I love both lists!! I have been planning on creating a FAQ because the same questions keep getting asked over and over. I'll put the combined list there if I ever get around to it. Denise, I though embarrassing situations like your mug only happen to me. Thanks for the reassurance that I am not alone!
  23. You barely qualify at 5'6" and 248 pounds. Drop that half inch stuff or you don't qualify. Have you checked your insurance policy to see if you are covered for bariatric surgery?
  24. I was banded last Tuesday and honestly think I could have driven the 40 miles home following surgery on my own. By Friday I felt nothing out of the ordinary. The discomfort from the gas was gone. I spent a great deal of time Thursday - Saturday at the dog park and must've logged about 10 miles. All of that movement makes the gas disperse faster. Good luck!

    Male or Female

HAL, I am a man and had similar concerns. I did a similar poll and there are plenty of men here. It is about 80% women but guys are here. So far from what I have read and seen here and through out the web, on average, men fare better than women with losing weight. Good luck!
