I too am usually in a hurry. 1 or 2 Dannon Light n Fit yogurts usually satisfy my until lunch.
  2. Every patient is different to every doctor. I got the go ahead to do blended/pureed foods at 1 week post-op. I got the ok to eat normally following my 2 week post-op appointment.

    can i ever?

I was told that the only thing I should never have again is carbonated beverages. There was a huge list of foods to be careful with but was told to try them out at home if I want just to see how they react to the band.

    Cook out

You jump started your metabolism. Some of my biggest losses have followed nights of binge drinking. Not very often mind you. Your metabolism sits there thinking you are going to give the same old amount of calories to burn and has become efficient at burning just what you give it. But when you give it more than it is expecting, it jumps into overdrive. That is why some people suggest eating more when you are at a plateau. Who cares anyways? You are losing again!!!!

    100lbs down in 5 months!

Congrats!!! I had second thoughts about correcting your math but figured it was for the better. You are only 67 pounds from 180!

    Down 100 pounds

Congrats!!! Somebody needs to arrange some kind of DFW meet up. So, we can all get together every couple of months for support and bragging.
  8. It's all part of the game. the best thing to do is try and stay positive. I gained a pound for the first time in 6 months last week. I lost 6 this week and did nothing different. Go figure.

    Naming your Band :-)

It figures! Somebody already had Phil. However, mine is Phyllis. So, it is still original.

  11. For those not on FaceBook: Leigha just earned the 'King of Compost' Red Ribbon in FarmVille! Leigha harvested 306 crops fertilized by friends and earned a Red Ribbon and a big ol' reward! Leigh...a will get the Blue Ribbon when they harvest 294 fertilized crops. Leigha is officially "King Shit" (will I get in trouble for saying shit?)

post your weight loss here we want to know!!!

I had surgery 4 weeks ago today and am down 11 pounds since. Adding that to the 95 I lost leading up to surgery, I'm down 106.

    March 2010 only please

Howdy folks, Well, tomorrow is the last day of March. Congratulations to those that have had surgery and good luck to those tomorrow. This was an open survey and gives the names of everybody that replied. I will try to get some sort of spreadsheet together so we can track each others progress. Bob
  14. My goal is 170 but if I get anywhere near 200 I will be estatic. CB, if it is only a matter of 2 or 3 pounds, just adjust just scale. When you get weighed at the doctor's office, just tell them you weighed 199 in the morning but have had a lot of water.
  15. I have a 14 cc band and haven't had a single fill yet and I am managing to get stuck. Something does seem weird. On the other hand, what ever you are doing is working if you are losing weight. Congrats!!!
  16. Leigha, 2.5 hours is close enough. I am stopping by on my next Shreveport excursion :frown: Anne, If you are hungry or feeling deprived, eat the foods you want. Just keep the portion size down. It is all about moderation, not self torture. Karen, I don't worry about missing anyone. There are too many for my small brain to keep track of these days and we'll get over it. Bobbie, 80 pounds in 16 months is a good pace. I wouldn't change a thing if it is working for you. Shad, you ain't new. You've been around longer than me. We don't have tenure preferences around here anyways. Betsy, any updates on Mark? Is no news, good news? And happy Tuesday everyone else! Not much going on here. Supposed to be 80+ today and 85 tomorrow. I may be jumping in the pool for the first time this year.
  17. Dr Kim is definitely worth checking out. He did my band and a few other regular posters here. He is very upbeat as are everybody in his office. His office is in Colleyville.
  18. You should see the pic of her next to the motorcycle.
  19. I was banded a few days before you and was told to eat 6 ounces at each meal and if I was still hungry to eat 8. I've been living on 6 ounces for Breakfast, usually a 4 ounce yogurt and 2 ounces of cottage cheese. About 8 ounces for lunch and then 6 ounces for dinner. I didn't start getting hungry until last week. I ate a little more than I planned to but tried to stay positive. On Friday the band reminded me it was there by clogging up in public and again yesterday at home. I am back on board with the 6-8-6 again. A trick to fighting hunger pangs is to brush your teeth when they come. It takes your appetite away. Stay positive. Your fills are right around the corner. My first is April 21.
  20. Thanks Gloria. My band helped me out of it. It clogged up in public at a nice, japanese restaurant and brought me back into the light on Friday.

It reminded me again yesterday at home that I need to slow down on chewing.

It's weird, but I gained a pound last week and am down 5 in the past five days.

funfairy, I am getting my first fill on April 21 but as I just stated, restriction has already somewhat started.

I don't plan on ever being totally "cured".

I think it will be just as hard as trying to break my smoking addiction. I quit smoking for 5 years a while back and that craving was always there. I quit again 6 months ago today and have cheated a little. A full pack last weekend but only one cigarette since.

Through it all I am keeping a good attitude and not lambasting myself. That is the secret to being successful at anything.

  21. I thought I heard the words check and Bob in the same sentence!!!! Over achiever Betsy? I did it again yesterday but this time with pre-packaged, deli, turkey breast and at home. It was a lot more comforting being able to run to my own toilet in the next room. I have eaten that a dozen times in the past 3 weeks with no issues. My band may have gotten tired or it was just giving me a break when I was new. It will be 4 weeks Tuesday and I have not dared touch bread except for a couple of pieces of pizza. Karen, when you are feeling ravenous at home, brush your teeth. It totally takes my appetite away. I gained a pound last week and so far, I am down 5 pounds in 5 days. I exercised more last week than this week; ate about the same amount minus the stuckies and I don't buy into that "muscle weighs more than fat" crap. Back to Farmville and yes, I am addicted. If you aren't on Facebook, come on over. My name is not Bryan or even Mike there. It is Bob Trieger and my e-mail is triegerb@verizon.net
  22. I am curious as to the percentage of men that are participating on this site.
  23. I'm an offical bandster!! I went to lunch with a good friend at a japanese hibachi restaurant. I ordered the salmon; scallops and fried rice. I Had a small salad and some broth before the meal. The fried rice gets put on my plate first. I ate about a quarter cup of that with no issue. Next comes the scallops and salmon. I ate a small piece of salmon, about a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. I chewed it well but wouldn't you know it, the first bite gets stuck. No big deal, I'll just force it through with a couple of mouthfuls of water like I have the past 2 times I was stuck. WRONG!!!! Now the water is sitting in my pouch with the salad and fried rice. The fish is firmly lodged and the other stuff ain't staying down much longer. I had to excuse myself and run for the men's room while cook was still cooking the beansprouts and stuff. I barely made it into the stall before I projectile vomitted everything into the toilet. Still stuck but feeling better I went back to the table and just sat there waiting for my friend to finish. Before she sould finish I was running back to the mens room. This time it wasn't water, it was slime and lots of it. I went back to the table and my friend had already put my meal in the take out container. We got out of there and I held back the vomitting for the ride back to work. As soon as I got out of the car, I let go with a gallon of slime and what little food was still left in me. The salmon finally went down more than an hour later and I feel great. I have been stuck 3 times, tilapia, pollock and salmon. Do you think maybe I should stay away from fish? The moral of the story is: Getting stuck, PBing and sliming in public, like constipation, is only funny until it happens to you.

ate to fast and got stuck

I had a fun episode yesterday in a nice restaurant at around noon. It lasted about 90 minutes. Got hungry at about 8 pm and ate with no problem.
  25. Great pic Leigha! And, although purple is my favorite color, I wouldn't be caught dead in Crocs!!!!
