  2. Where are the "Get rid of the kids" and "Lock the kids up" choices? I'm a dog person and love animals more than kids but if on of my dogs bit somebody or even growled unprovoked, they are gone. But my dogs are 155 and 200 pounds. What breed are we talking? Some little rat terrier or chihuahua that are known for nipping? Or a large dog that can actually cause damage? I can't resist an oppotunity to show off my babies
  3. And have somebody sue me for false advertising because they don't get to see it Thanks!!
  4. Woohoo!! Got my ticket to see Onederland on Xmas morning!!

How can I begin to succeed?

Have you been in contact with your surgeon and/or his staff this entire time? If not, call them. You should have have meting with them monthly until you at least proper restriction. Winning small battles doesn't work. You have to modify your behavior and eating habits for the rest of your life in order to win the war. Call your surgeon. He'll be happy to hear from you.
  8. I had no pain whatsoever. The gas was uncomfortable for about 2 days. I hope you sleep lying down. When you sleep standing up, you risk injury if you fall over. You will be fine. The vast majority of us have no issues sleeping immediately following surgery. As long as you are not picking your girls up, you should be able to bathe the minute you get home from surgery. Good luck on a quick and painless surgery like most of us had!

    Exorcist Needed

Sounds like a very good meal plan but you didn't mention an important aspect. How much Water are you drinking daily? Water plays a very important part in weight loss. Other than that, all I can suggest is waiting it out. You've lost a considerable amount of weight and like the previous posters mentioned, your body needs time to adjust.

    so thirsty!

Limiting Water to 4 ounces and hour sounds completely retarded to me. Great way to get dehydrated. Does the book actually say that or does it say "at least 4 ounces hour?"

    Worried about surgery

I understand your concern. After all, a little saggy skin is much worse than unhealthy, repulsive, digusting fat... NOT!! At your age, there is a good chance your skin will tighten up as you lose weight but that should not be a major concern. Worry about losing the unhealthy weight before you worry about how loose your skin will be. Good luck
  13. Call your doctor! It may be as simple as removing .2 ccs to get you able to drink. I was extremely tight after my third fill and could no longer guzzle Water. Had I been unable to drink at all I would have called the doc immediately. Has it gotten any easier since you posted this? As the swelling goes down, it should loosen up a little.
  14. I lost 50% prior to banding. Hell no, I wouldn't be satisfied! I am happy to be losing any weight at all but will not be satisfied completely until I reach my ultimate goal. I didn't have surgery to do things half-ass.

    going for a fill

Falling of the wagon is ok as long as you are quick enough to get out of the way before it rolls over you. You didn't say that you gained the lost weight back. So, I'd say you were pretty quick at dodging the moving wagon. Congrats and good luck!!
  16. Did absence make you grow fonder of me? Welcome back Anne and it great to hear that you came out of surgery ok. The pain will go away soon enough. Karen, give it a week. I was that tight after my last fill but because I could actually drink water, I spent a week deciding whether to get an unfill or not. By the time the week was up, I was almost guzzling water again and the tiniest bit of food was satisfying me. Eva, the sweet spot is hard to judge. You will be very tight immediately following a fill because of swelling. It's hard to judge exactly how tight you are until the swelling goes down. I think 3 months should be plenty of time to find it with a fill every 2 weeks or so after the initial fill.
  17. Congrats! You're doing great. You had surgery 12 weeks ago and are down 24 pounds. That is an average of 2 pounds a week. Just keep on doing what you have been and you be close to goal in no time.

    LB Friendly RESTURANTS!

All restaurants are lapband friendly. Just order off of the kids menu. If you want to get picky, you can drive down to Dallas and check out this place: http://www.eattheworld.com/. The owner has had lapband surgery. I haven't tried it yet. I am considering setting up some kind of get together there.

    how much is too much???

The sandwich sounds pretty normal to me. I hope you used fat free mayo in the tuna and it was on whole grain bread. The fact that 2 oz of meat satisfies you after only 1 fill is great!!!
  20. If your doctor really cared, he would not tell you to gain weight. He'd just lie on the paperwork.
  21. Two words: Protein shakes. You have to get at least 50 grams of protein in whether you are hungry or not. Most Protein Shakes have between 15 and 30 grams of protein per serving. Try a few and see which ones you like and which you don't. Your appetite will return and you'll probably be able to get the protein you need with little of no shakes.
  22. I get stuck maybe twice a week and almost always because I am careless. I've been banded 4.5 months and have never puked.
  23. They're your kids. You should be able to starve them if you want.

    Why we hate men.

I understand your frustration but there are two sides of everything.

    weighing food

I don't weigh it on the scale any more because I am pretty confident I can do it by eye now. I didn't weigh my food to ensure I am eating less than any amount. I weighed it so I knew how much I am eating. Don't stop eating after a certain amount. Stop eating when you are satisfied and record how much it was. Next time you go for an adjustment tell your surgeon or his staff this and they will have a better sense of whether you need a fill or not and how much.
