What did you eat the first week on the REGULAR diet?
btrieger replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 or 3 boneless wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. -
Why can't I use a straw?
btrieger replied to sockmonkey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You tend to take more air in when using a straw was the reason I was given. -
Maintaining BMI Presurgery
btrieger replied to gracierose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
BULL SHIT!!!! I checked with my surgeon's office on more than one occasion to ensure that this was not true. I went from a 55 BMI down to 39 in the 5 months leading up to surgery. Check with your surgeon's office and don't take the word of any stranger including myself. Preventing yourself from losing weight is retarded unless this is a very good reason. -
Why arn't I losing weight like everyone else??
btrieger replied to zeniada's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you drinking plenty of water? It is necessary to wash the waste that you are burning from your body. Also, STOP comparing yourself to others!! It only ends in disappointment because we tend to look past those we are doing better than and only remember those that are way more successful. -
was postop pain terrible???
btrieger replied to bandongal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What post-op pain? Was there supposed to be some? -
Hi, I just created a new meetup group for DFW area bandsters to get together and discuss experiences. The site is only a couple of hours old and still a little raw. If you are interested in meeting fellow bandsters in the area; please check it out. DFW Lapband Meetup Group (Keller, TX) - Meetup.com It is a closed group. So, privacy should be of little concern. Thanks!! Bob * moderators, please don't move this post. I've cross-posted to the local Texas forum as well but that is not read as much as general.

I want to try and keep it central to the Metroplex. I technically live in Fort Worth myself because I am within 2 miles on I35W. Face to face meetings are great. Angst and miscommunication sometimes occur online because emotion can be lost in the printed words of a forum.

No Facebook is required. However, in order to see the forum and calendar, you do have to register on Do something, Learn something, Share something, Change something - Meetup.com. It is free.

Do you believe in a god or gods?

Or, they would want another woman or men are suppose to marry multiple women. -

Your god's perfect plan of 1 man, 1 woman is flawed. He accidentally made more women than men. -
banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group

I wished I was like him and could take my sister's mouth away. She wouldn't be such a bitch if she didn't open her mouth. -
Ate too much! Please read and support.

Five months since surgery and almost 11 since I started the process. My weight has been bouncing around between 220 and 223 for about a month. Go figure, my next mini goal is 219 (99 K). I still have my eye on 170 but if I never lose another pound my competitive side may be a little disappointed but the rest of me is ecstatic about what I have achieved. * I am sucking in my gut and the bathing suit hides the dolap but we should all be afforded a little cheating.

Oh for god's sake [sic]. Let us pretend that Jesus Christ actually existed. If so, he was a cross-dressing hippie that hung out with a bunch of guys his entire life. That doesn't sound like a heterosexual male to me. -

Who does sodomy between two consenting adults hurt? What gives you the right to tell sodomites that they shouldn't be able to enjoy themselves any way that they see fit? The days of using an ancient fairy tale to justify your hate and discrimination are over. -

Melody, I overlooked this when you first posted. Perhaps it was subconsciously because I don't know what I'll do when I lose my kids. They are literally the only family I have here. Congratulations on having the strength to throw out that poison! It is liquor that I turn to in times of trouble and it takes a lot for me to put the bottle down. As hard as it is, I'd try and replace her immediately. You have to get back into your good habits like walking the dog. Good luck! Bob -
Need some encouragement
btrieger replied to XxMariposaxX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The secret is to keep a positive attitude and not let yourself get unmotivated. Be happy with your progress no matter how slow. Progress is progress. Try not to set time driven goals if you will get depressed if you don't meet them. Do not compare yourself to others. We are all very different people. Think about how much better you feel emotionally and physically now as compared to before surgery.
