letter from the minister of health about the lab band
Wheezy replied to andreerichards1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sorry you didn't get the response you were looking for, but I'm not surprised. Think positive and never give up. -
Wow Loriely, that sounds aweful. Did you get the results of your ultrasound? Are you going to have to wait until you see your Doc? Not knowing why you are having this pain is the worst. Hope you are feeling better soon
-
Mandi, Glad your fill went well and congrats on the big 1000th post.
-
OHIP will pay for it, don't worry about that, just glad it's not your band and hopefully Dr J can do your gallbladder laproscopically. Take Care
-
Don't ever feel selfish for taking care of yourself!!! You deserve this and so do your kids. My heart goes out to you:girl_hug:

Wow, this is why this site is for support. Mandi, your amazing! Hope your feeling better soon Loriely. And Yoda is right, in the east it's going to start snowing tonight at about 11:00 so TO should get it a few hours before us. It's going to be a bad one, we are expecting 30 or more centimetres.
-
Green!!! Congrats on your weight loss and the great NSV Cloe, 2.5ccs hope it all goes well.
-
My fingers and toes are crossed.

Loriely, that doesn't sound like gallbladder to me. That sounds like an irritated (swollen/inflammed) stomach. Gallbladder is right upper quandran pain (under the rib cage) that often radiates to the back. Anyhow, hope they find out soon what's up and that you are feeling better soon. Keep us in touch.

Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)

Yoda, you are doing awesome! and Bandiva you should talk, you are also doing very well Congrats. -
Some employers are soooo stupid. The hospital I work for tell us we can't take vacation because we're always short staff and at the end of the year we get a letter saying that all of our vacation must be taken and that we can't carry over our vacation.
-
Can't drink wine anymore and I love it. I take antacids a lot to help with the heartburn and try to avoid anything that may make it worse.

I'm with Green, just bought a set of King size sheets at Winner's. They were on sale for $44.00, 400 thread count. What a deal. I bought the sheets to use on our trip, we got a condo and the master bedroom has a king size bed. Beleive it or not it was cheaper to buy the sheet set than to have linnen service for the 2 weeks we will be there.

To tell you the truth, the place needed upgrading. It now probably looks like a place where you would spend that kind of money.
-
Enjoy your trip Yasima!!!!
-
Wow Loriely, glad you are feeling better. It is an eye opener what could happen. A viral infection, an over fill and I heard someone with a terrible cold run into trouble. This is serious business.

What is your favourite canadian hockey....
Wheezy replied to CanMacDaddy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Boston Bruins or the Surgical Weight Loss Clinic... Can't make up my mind. Oh so the Boston Bruins are not Canadian? I guess the later is my answer. My understanding from the clinic that the fills are for life and if there were complications that required the band to be removed the clinic would adsorb the cost. -
Congrats on your weight loss, you and Cloe are such an inspiration to me since we met at the clinic the day of my surgery. Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Enjoy the food that you haven't been able to enjoy since your last fill. It's been quite a journey. You are the first person I have ever met to enjoy tax time!!!! Enjoy it while you can. I feel that the middle income earners are the ones who bear the brunt of the Canadian tax burden!! So the moral of the story is...for future reference....find tax shelters and by the way if you find any please share it with the rest of us.

Only another hour... I will be in Ottawa tomorrow morning and was there all day today.. so we could meet in Ottawa. How about tomorrow? Seriously if you ever wanted to visit the Nation's Capital, I would meet you there. Any one interested???
-
Cloe, Where is Peterborough???? lol. You should come East sometime. I live between Montreal and Ottawa, both great cities to visit and to go shopping.

Hey Mandi, glad you are feeling better. What went wrong to make this happen? Did Dr C. offer any explanation? About my very slow weight loss. I don't think that I could take any more fill, I'm at 1.8ccs in a 4cc band and the band let's me know it's enough. Breakfast is almost impossible, I can drink coffee and if I'm lucky I can eat yogurt but very slowly. My lunch usually consist of soup and sometimes more yogurt. Supper is a hit and miss. I try to eat with my husband whatever is made but I can only eat very small portions and about 1/3rd of the time I end up pbing. So my very slow weight loss is not because of what I am eating.

Cloe get driving east down the 401, I'm ready for that drink!!!!
-
Wow Mandi, what the heck is going on ?!!!These things always make me wonder why go through this to begin with? At least you hve lossed a considerable amount of weight. I was banded in August and my total weight loss is 25 lbs. You on the other hand have lost 100!!!that is so awsome. I went through all the trouble of setting everything up tonight. The seafood, filet mignon, etc. A very romantic diner with the fireplace scented candles and all...but while we were supposed to be eating, after a shrimp and a scallops, I spent the meal in the bathroom sliming and pbing. How romantic is that????? Anyhoooo. I hope you are feeling better soon, glad to hear that it's not a slipped band. Good luck Mandi

Forgot to tell ya in my last post that as of Friday the contracters are out of my house and the job is done. Now I have to convince me husband that we have to move, the house is looking good...time to get out. My house is now all mine, no more intruders. Yeah!!!
-
I feel for ya! Tomorrow we are moving from one room to the other. It involves, IT (computer people), maintenance, and us. We are doing all of this without interupting services. (Ya right!) At least that's what all the docs and I'm sure patients expect. These things never go smoothly. I told my husband to have the martini (or three) ready when I get home. Wish me luck. And when it's all over I have to tell you all about the people who are moving into our department.......Like I said wish me luck that I don't do any physical harm to anyone Haha!
